Exciting Adventure on the Jersey Shore
On this Throwback Thursday, I’m sharing some video I took when hubby and I ran across a school of skates! Since the weather was so nice we were taking a long walk and on our return trip over the Shark River Bridge, we caught sight of a large school of bait fish jumping out of the water. We decided to watch the bait fish to see if anything big would come to chase after them, like a dolphin. Nothing came to eat the bait fish but then we spotted two small skates in the water. A few seconds later, however, we saw a school of over a dozen skates gliding through the water. I managed to get out my phone and capture some video of this amazing sight! I so love being this close to nature and being able to see things like this right on my doorstep. It’s one of the reasons I set the At the Shore series in this area.
Humpday Fun at the Beach
When my fur baby Slate heard that there was a sandcastle building contest going on today at the beach, he insisted that he had to go! LOL! He’s a good baby, but I can’t picture him at the beach. Hubby and I are contemplating teaching him to walk on a leash since he loves being outside on our little balcony. I’ll let you know how that’s going.

Cuteness overload and a free read!
Cuteness overload, am I right? This is my grand fur baby Lily who is the star of Deadly Chase, a free read at Harlequin.com. Deadly Chase is a teaser for the K-9s on Patrol Series that I’m doing with some of my friends at Harlequin Intrigue. I loved including my daughter’s fur baby in this story about a DEA Agent who is going home and has to face his past and the woman whose heart he broke when he left.
Trey Gonzalez from South Beach Security
I spent the morning scrolling through photos of actors to try to find the right one I’d cast as Trey Gonzalez, an undercover detective who is the grandson of the founder of the South Beach Beach Security agency that is at the heart of my upcoming new series for Harlequin Intrigue. Trey is the hero of the first book in the series – Lost in Little Havana – but you will see him in all of the books in the series, including the spin-off K-9 Division stories featuring those adorable dogs Bongo, Missy, Mango, and Butter.
After searching high and low, I decided Christian Bale was a good choice even though Trey has blue-green eyes. Bale’s intensity is what made me pick him and I’ve loved watching him in many movies from Batman Begins to one of my favs Ford v Ferrari. What about you? Are you a fan? I shared some exciting news with you the other day about accepting an offer to write four more romance novels featuring K-9 heroes for Harlequin Intrigue.
