My friends and I try to do a writing retreat every few years and I so miss doing them! I hope we can schedule one soon. One of the places we get together is Las Vegas because it’s easy to get to for most of us. Besides working on our stories, we take time to see some shows and to visit the fabulous Red Rock Canyon for some hikes. Today I’m sharing this picture I took the last time we were there for a visit.

What’s on my nightstand this week!
On my nightstand this week I have Faithless in Death, the latest J.D. Robb book! I always look forward to the latest installment in this series as you can tell from my beach-read photo! LOL! What’s on your nightstand or e-book reader? Have a fav book you’d like to share with us? If you’re an author and have a new release, share a link to it here!

Three Surprising Things About Caridad!
It’s open-mic day! You’ve asked and I’m answering: here are three surprising things I bet you didn’t know about me!
The first: I wrote my first book in the fifth grade when a teacher assigned a class project, namely, to write a 20 typed page book for a class lending library. I went home and started writing and my poor mom had to help me type up by 120 (YES ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY) page book. It was a romance, of course, and it was written on a typewriter much like the one in this photo!
The second: I ghostwrote the novel tie-in for the Jane the Virgin television show! Jane even said my name on the show and called me “The Queen of Latina Romance.” More like a princess than a queen, but very exciting.
The third: I would love to own a bed and breakfast geared just for writers. I’d get up in the morning and make everyone a wonderful breakfast and then spend a few hours helping writers and learning some new things myself.
Do you have a question for me? I’d be happy to answer! Take a moment to share something about yourself!

Staying Positive on Monday Mornings
Monday morning blues. It’s okay, a lot of us feel that way on Mondays! To get moving, I fill up my coffee cup and haul out my planner to see what exciting things I have coming up for the week. That always makes me feel better. I want to know what you do to get yourself moving on Monday mornings! Comment below and let’s get the week going on a positive note. Caridad’s Favorite Pizza and TV Night!
Friday night was always our pizza and family TV night. We would order a pizza, place our tray tables in front of the television, and queue up our favorite kid’s shows, like Rugrats, Rocco’s Modern Life, or Doug. It was so much fun just to spend time together like that after a busy week at work and school. We still keep some of those traditions alive by using our special pizza plates when we are getting together for a casual Friday! How about you? What’s one of your favorite Friday or family rituals?

We love Williamsburg, Virginia!
My family used to go to Williamsburg, Virginia pretty often. My mom was big on us knowing America’s history because she believed that was essential for us to be good citizens, especially since were truly blessed to be able to immigrate to the U.S. This Nation gave my family so much and for that, I am eternally grateful. Like my mom, I wanted my daughter to know American history and the gift that is America so we also have done a number of trips to Williamsburg and other historic places. But who says you can’t have some fun along the way although truth be told, I was worried that our daughter might not let us out of the stock! LOL! Have you been to Williamsburg or another historic location? Share your fav history place!

THANK YOU for your support
THANK YOU to all for your support for Cold Case Reopened! Thanks to you I’ve been offered a four-book contract for Harlequin Intrigue and I’m so excited! Especially since you’ll get to see more of Jackson Whitaker’s Miami cousins Sophie and Robbie and get to meet the rest of the family behind the Liberty Agency. I can’t wait to write that series for you. Today and I’m sharing one of the reviews for you from Cloth Diapering Mama who was kind enough to leave this review: “This is a fast moving suspense romance that was so engrossing. I love the characters in this book…” Reviews really do help authors so if you like a book, please take a moment to leave a review. It’s one of the greatest gifts you can give your fav authors!
