Enjoying Summer Bounty

Even though I’m not getting many tomatoes in my garden, we have enjoyed them from local friends and the grocery store. We’ve also enjoyed summer corn. But if I had to choose…That’s a tough choice. A lovely tomato salad or roasted corn off the grill? What’s a girl to do? What about you? What would you choose? Corn or tomato? P.S. The first two books in the Crooked Pass Security romantic suspense series are on the shelves right now! Grab your copies at https://amzn.to/47cmo2o.

Happy National Pickleball Day

Happy National Pickleball Day! My hubby and I love to play pickleball. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to do it the last few months because it’s just been too windy. You play with something like a wiffle ball, so any wind makes the ball carry in weird ways. We’ve been checking out indoor courts so we can play-year round! What about you? Do you play pickleball? P.S. The women of the At the Shore contemporary romance series are definitely not pickleball players. They’d rather surf or bicycle along the boardwalk. If you love beach reads with best friends at new stages in their lives and finding unexpected love, you’ll love the At the Shore series. The first book in the series, ONE SUMMER NIGHT, is specially priced at 99 cents. Grab your copy today at https://amzn.to/45d9tMs.

Happy Visit to Bologna, Italy

Many years ago, I visited Bologna, Italy, while I was on a work assignment. The city charmed me, and I knew that I would one day have to bring my family back to explore it. I was lucky to visit again with my husband, and of all the cities we visited on this trip, he loved Bologna the best as well! We started off with a lovely stay at the Hotel Baglioni, which turned out to be one of The Leading Hotels of the World (a former client). What a gorgeous place! Then we hit the streets, walking along the arched corridors. We located a pasta shop with the ladies who visit with TV Chef Lydia. Then we explored and found a leaning tower, one of many we saw in Italy. After, we discovered a library built on ruins that you could visit. I searched to see if they had any of my books (sadly, no). We strolled to a nearby square and a church with some lovely statues, artwork, and a floral display from a local garden club. We hurried to the food market before it closed and picked up some delicious bread, cheese, and strawberries. Later that night, after a tasty al fresco dinner, we saw a wonderful Saturday celebration of Palm Sunday in the main square. All in all, it was a wonderful time before we had to leave for our next stop: Florence!

My Fav Thing About August

There are lots of things to love in August. My daughter’s birthday. The weather. The flowers in the garden. But my fav thing about August is sun-ripe tomatoes, fresh from the garden. Unfortunately, the rain this year has left me with very few tomatoes so far. Sad face. What about you? Do you have a fav thing about August? P.S. Another thing that’s been nice about this August is my two releases sitting on bookstore shelves! Dog-Ear or Bookmark?

Hubby and I are completely different when it comes to reading, and it’s not just about what we read. When hubby finishes reading a book, it is pristine. The spine is intact, and there are no dog-eared pages. He always uses a bookmark. I am the complete opposite. I love cracking the spine on a paperback, and I totally dog-ear the pages. If there’s a good quote or phrase, I may even fold that page in half so I can go back to it later. What about you? Dog-ear or bookmark? P.S. Robbie Whitaker, the computer genius in DEFENDED BY THE BODYGUARD, is definitely like me when it comes to books. As for Selene, the musician heroine, I picture her as the kind to use a bookmark and make sure the book looks new when she’s finished.
