When I wrote The Calling is Reborn series, the hero was an intriguing Southern vampire. But I knew that as the series expanded, I’d have to add other otherworldly creatures. First came a Kiang-shi, a Chinese vampire. Then a Chupacabra. Finally, it was time to grow the world and bring in shifters. After all, if vampires could exist unknown in Manhattan, what about other creatures of the night? Which leads to today’s important question.
