#TeaserTuesday FIGHT THE SHADOWS

fight the shadowsI’m really excited to be part of the launch of CJ Lyon’s Shadow Ops Kindle World and I had a fun time writing FIGHT THE SHADOWS. It was action-packed and sexy and I got to show off some of the parts of New York that I visit every day. Today’s Teaser Tuesday is an excerpt from FIGHT THE SHADOWS.

Marine Staff Sergeant Rick Sanchez had survived two tours of duty and returned home to join the New York City Police Department. He’d found something besides his calling at the Police Academy: he found the love of his life. When his wife is killed three years later by gang thugs, Rick feels betrayed by the police department that calls it a drug deal gone bad and claims his wife was dirty. He quits the force and vows to get to the truth, but he doesn’t foresee the danger coming at him from both the street gang and a pint-sized warrior who threatens to steal his heart again.

Patricia Morales had worked hard to build a better life for herself outside the crime-ridden section of New York City where her family had settled after leaving Honduras. It wasn’t easy, especially after her father was killed in a car accident. But she’d joined the National Guard and found a way to a better life for her family. Deployed as part of Joint Task Force Empire Shield, she hopes to one day help her half-brother out of the gang life. When her half- criminal activities may involve a possible terrorist threat, Patricia must face her past and deal with her attraction to a man determined to send her half-brother to jail for a murder he didn’t commit.

#ManCandyMonday Jacob deGrom #Mets #Yougottabelieve

Wow, dare I believe? The Mets swept the Nationals and are now in a tie for first place. As much as I thought this was possible, having it be a reality is . . . Well, I’m a Mets fan. We are diehard optimists up until that very last day of the season. I even think that this year we’ll see some playoff action and who knows what else. Dare I dream of a World Series spot? You bet I will!

Part of the reason for that is a stable of talented young arms, including Jacob deGrom who pitched an amazing inning at the All Star Game, throwing only 10 pitches to retire the side. Wow. An All-Star record by they way. Not to mention that he was the National League Rookie of the Year last year!

#ThrowbackThursday One Direction Contest & My Mini-Me

When Hurricane Sandy hit nearly three years ago, we were lucky that my daughter’s just opened surf and skate shop was not physically damaged. Economically was a different story since the area really suffered during that first year. Despite that, and hurting herself, my daughter donated a portion of her sales to Hurricane Sandy relief and even sold her One Direction tickets and donated that money.

She was able to see One Direction last year since I bought her tickets for a conference last year, but she’d love to see them again and is part of a contest. Please help her out by clicking here to like her video!

First day #RWA15

We had a great first day at RWA. My friend Nisha started it off by surprising us with a stretch limo for the ride in. Good thing because we needed all the space for our stuff.

We got into New York on record time, checked in, unpacked and hung out with some friends before going to dinner at Dos Caminos and the readings at Lady Jane’s Salon. Here is my tasty Mango margarita and the gang at the salon.

Afterward we ended the night back at the Marriott and Junior’s and this awesome cheesecake. I shared it with my buddy because it was just too rich.
