Growing up, we had rice on our dinner plates almost every night. In fact, one of my fav dinners is a fried egg on rice. My hubby and his family regularly had pasta on their plate! Today is a very special day! No, it’s not because it’s Tax Day. Only the IRS celebrates that! Today I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to my wonderful son-in-law. Beautiful National Gardening Day
Oh, what a beautiful morning, Oh, what a beautiful day! Why? Because it’s National Gardening Day! I can’t wait to get my hands in the ground and plant all those seedlings that I’m carefully growing in my garage. Soon I’ll be able to harden them off with a few hours of sun in the cold frame and before you know it, they’ll be going into the ground. I’ve got about six or seven different kinds of tomatoes, two different kinds of peppers, more lettuce (some are already in and giving us salad!), and some flowers as well. This year I’m going to try and grow lots of zinnias, but I’ll be looking for other good companion plants come Mother’s Day! What about you? I know I have lots of garden lovers out there!
