Unboxing Never Gets Old

Whenever I get home and I see that Harlequin box sitting on my front stoop, I always get excited. I approach it slowly, like in a romance novel. My hands stroke the cardboard lovingly until I sweep the box up in my arms and carry it over the threshold. Gently I lay it down and open it tenderly, revealing what lies at the heart of this wondrous box. A new release! Yeah! This time it’s my December 24th release, DANGER IN DADE. This is an action-packed second chance at love romance between a handsome Marine (aren’t they always handsome?) and a beautiful chef who worked near his base. He ghosted her after he came back from deployment because he was a changed man. Now they’re both in South Beach and the murder of a hotel owner draws them into danger. I think you’ll love this story, the last in the South Beach Security K-9 Division series. All the books are standalone but with connected characters and you’ll get to see the stories for the SBS tech geniuses, Robbie and Sophie, in the first two books of the Crooked Pass Security series! Our Christmas Visit to Longwood Gardens

My sister and I are avid gardeners and one of our favorite things to do is to visit Longwood Gardens. One of the top times of year to go is in December to see all the Christmas lights. We recently went and on this Throwback Thursday, I’m sharing photos of our visit. Everything was lovely, although there were some changes. Last year there were lights along the areas beside the meadow walk. Those were missing this year but instead there was a lovely light show that mimics the fabulous water shows that happen in front of the conservatory. Beautiful! The new West Conservatory also boasted quite a few lovely trees and lights! I hope you enjoy the photos. P.S. Tempting Teaser from Killer in the Kennel

In this scene, Jose and Sara are sharing their stories about what it’s like to grow up with successful families that are always in the limelight. Jose has his issues with his cousins in the South Beach Security Agency but Sara also has a past with her family. Successful financial types, they were embroiled in a scandal that had them in the news which has scarred her. She is leery of being in the public but the news about the serial killer is bound to have her in the news again. He nodded. “I’m not leaving. Not until we figure out what’s happening, and I know you’re safe. Plus, I imagine you would rather not be plastered across the news,” he said and cupped her cheek.

“I wouldn’t. People don’t understand how hard that is,” she said, and leaned into that caress, drawing comfort from it and something else. That something else that she’d been feeling about him since the moment she’d laid eyes on him.

“I do. I understand,” he said as she reached up, cradled his jaw, and ran her thumb across his lips, the gesture as intimate as any kiss.

He smiled and leaned close. Ran his thumb across her lips as his gaze traveled over her face. “You feel it too,” he said.

At her nod, he shifted closer, so close his warm breath spilled across her lips, but just then the whoosh of elevator doors had them jerking apart guiltily.

Pick Your Favorite

Around this time of year there is always some kind of candy floating around my house for when guests visit and of course, to decorate the Christmas tree. Hubby loves the peppermint candy canes but I hate the flavor of mint so I tend to grab a chocolate. My favorites are those delicious Lindt truffles. What about you? If you have to choose between a candy cane and a truffle, what would you choose? P.S.
