When I worked in New York City, I never had time to visit lower Manhattan but on a recent trip to have lunch with one of my editors, I decided to go in a little early and explore. My first stop was the Oculus, the new transportation hub built at the World Trade Center. The Oculus was unique and eye-catching. The 9-11 Memorial Museum and pools were just a step outside its walls. Since it was a beautiful day, I strolled around the Memorial pools but didn’t go into the museum. I want to do that on another day when I can revisit those horrible moments. Continuing my walk, I went to St. Paul’s Chapel which is not all that far away and was used by first responders after 9-11. I was fascinated to find out that the only reason the church survived after the Towers came down was because of a big old sycamore that sheltered the church from the debris of the Towers. It wasn’t a big church, but it was filled with the history of the early New York City settlers and 9-11. Heading farther down Broadway, I went to the larger Trinity Church. It’s an imposing Gothic structure in a pinkish stone that at one time was black with soot until a restoration occurred. Inside were beautiful stained glass windows and vaulted ceilings as well as dark woodwork. Burial grounds surround the church and I walked around to check them out. Many of the tombstones were so old that all the lettering was gone. Alexander Hamilton is buried there but unfortunately, that part of the cemetery was closed off when I visited. With a little time to spare, I walked toward the water and ended up on Wall Street and across from the New York Stock Exchange. Had to snap a photo for my hubby who loves all things financial. Finally, it was time to meet my editor for a delightful lunch and after, for the two-hour trek home. All in all, it was a fabulous day. P.S. I’m so very excited about the special pricing that’s happening during November on three of my Intrigue releases, especially COLD CASE REOPENED! Why? Well, you’ll get to see what’s happening with Jackson and Rhea in the first book of the Crooked Pass Security series, CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING, which takes South Beach Security tech geniuses Sophie and Robbie Whitaker to Colorado to help rescue their kidnapped parents! As a reader, I love seeing what’s happening to characters and how their happily ever after is going. Plus, I love cold case stories. I’m actually thinking of doing a series of books where Crooked Pass Security helps solve some cold cases. What do you think about that? Grab your copies today while they’re specially priced! National Donut Day
Happy National Donut Day! I love a good donut and am sad that my favorite donut is no longer made at my area Dunkin’ Donuts, namely buttercrunch. But honestly, chocolate iced or those delicious glazed donuts at Krispy Kreme are fabulous. What about you? Are you a donut lover? Also, I’m having another VIP newsletter giveaway! If you’d like to know how to win one of my fun coasters and an autographed copy of SABOTAGE OPERATION, sign up at https://bit.ly/CaridadsNewsletter. You’ll also receive a free e-book of SOUTH BEACH LOVE for signing up!

Choose Fall or Winter Fun
In New Jersey we are on like day 35 of no rain and warm weather for this time of year. I’m actually looking forward to either wet weather or even snow so I can curl up under a blanket and just chill. While I was chilling, would I choose fall/apple cider or snow/hot chocolate? It might be snow/hot chocolate because chocolate, you know! LOL! What about you? Do you like fall weather and all it brings or chilly winter days and hot chocolate? P.S. KILLER IN THE KENNEL is set in Florida in November but I don’t think the hero and heroine in that story will be choosing either hot apple cider or hot chocolate. Maybe a margarita? Sunday Vibes
It’s the first Sunday in a long time that I’ve got nothing I absolutely have to do – besides work on #3 in the Crooked Pass Security series. I have a standing brunch date with a friend and then I may just take a stroll on the boardwalk or putter in the garden a bit. Maybe I’ll make gnocchi for dinner tonight. Wish me luck! What about you? Any plans for today? P.S. Counting down to the release of DANGER IN DADE on Christmas Eve. Just 53 days! OMG, I should start making my naughty and nice list! Practice Gratitude
Happy Novmeber! This is one of my fav months because it has one of my fav holidays: Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving because I think it’s so important to be grateful for what you have. I’m usually a positive person and look at all the wonderful things in my life, especially this year since we have our lovely new grandson in our lives. I appreciate all that I have, including all of you who take the time to visit with me. I also keep in mind that the important things in life are not things. How about you? Are you ready for November? Happy National Fountain Pen & Authors Day
Today is a double celebration for me! It’s National Fountain Pen Day but also National Authors Day! Seems appropriate since I love using a fountain pen to write. I have a number of different fountain pens from a beautiful Mont Blanc set hubby got me as a graduation gift to some inexpensive pens with colored ink. I love playing around with the colors when I’m doodling or playing around with an idea for a new story. What about you? Do you like fountain pens? I don’t have to ask if you like authors since you’re here, visiting with me! LOL! P.S. Only 55 more days until the release of DANGER IN DADe. Don’t miss out on this second chance at love romantic suspense! Snag your copy at https://books2read.com/dangerdade
