This or That: Talk or Cuddle

There are lots of difficult things about writing a romance. When writing romantic suspense, I have to balance the action and romance. If it’s a contemporary romance, it’s making sure the conflict is believable. Paranormals? So many other things to consider! LOL! But in all of them, the big question is: When will they finally give in to passion and what will happen afterward? Today I’m asking you what you like to see for the after. Do you like when they talk or is a cuddle what you want to see? P.S. – If you like books with romance, action, and talk, you might want to check out THE FIFTH KINGDOM which is one of my personal favs. It’s specially priced at 99 cents for a limited time at https://amzn.to/3Y286g4.

My favorite July thing to do…

I love this time of year because it’s when I get to relax under an umbrella on the beach and read. Read, and read, and read. LOL! I just demolished some steamy romances and then decided to tackle something a little more serious: 1984 by George Orwell. It’s been a great read so far because of the ideas expounded and also the wonderful writing and development of the characters. What about you? What’s your favorite July thing to do? P.S. – If you’re looking for a beach read, check out the At the Shore contemporary romance box set which Amazon has discounted to 99 cents for a limited time! A Book of My Heart

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of running into Jeannie J-T at the Boobs Between the Books event created by my wonderful friend and fellow author Stacey Wilk. Jeannie and I had a wonderful discussion about all the different genres I’d written and since she’d already read THE FIFTH KINGDOM, I suggested that she might also like DARKNESS CALLS since it also has a paranormal element, namely a vampire as the hero. Jeannie took my recommendation and I’m so glad that she enjoyed the book. Thanks, Jeannie, for this review of a book of my heart. Grab your copy of DARKNESS CALLS for only 99 cents at https://amzn.to/4bCbK3H.

Exciting 4th of July Fireworks

One of my favorite times of year on the Jersey Shore is the 4th of July. So many towns do fireworks and I love to go down to the beachfront to watch them. This year we watched the shows in Bradley Beach and Belmar and I have to say, they both rocked. But we had the advantage of being up close for the Belmar fireworks and that made it such an exciting experience. I filmed some of the Belmar fireworks for you and here is a condense version for you! P.S. – If you like fireworks on the Jersey Shore, grab the At the Shore contemporary romance box set. Three fun and emotional stories about best friends finding their happily-ever-after. Even better, it’s only 99 cents for all three stories. Download your copy at https://amzn.to/4eRQNEJ.

Happy National Kitten Day

I love dogs but my work and travel schedule has never allowed for having one. But I have had cats and I do love them! My current fur baby Slate was rescued from a duo of feral cats who had a litter of kittens. We had started feeding them when they were kittens and they would visit everyday. One day we discovered they’d had kittens and it wasn’t long before the kittens started visiting. We decided to adopt one and also take care of the other cats so they would be safe. Imagine our surprise when one day the cats and kittens left our little Slate in a pot on our deck. He was all by himself and we took him in. He was incredibly calm and friendly and was a wonderful addition to our family. He’s also polydactyl and has 7 or 8 toes on his front paws. P.S. – I haven’t written any books with cats amazingly although FBI Agent Diana Reyes in DARKNESS CALLS does joke about getting one instead of falling for Southern vampire Ryder Latimer. LOL! Tuesday Takeover – Stacey Wilk

Please give a big welcome to my awesome friend and romance author Stacey Wilk! Stacey is a fabulous writer and also one of my top conference roomies. We always have a great time when we are together. Stacey is here to share about Christmas in July and her Christmas-themed book, Whispering Christmas!

Did you know that “Christmas in July” was introduced in the 1940 movie, Christmas in July? It was not a new concept that retailers created, trying to take advantage of early sales. They didn’t wait to jump on board to this fantastic idea, though. In 1944, the US Post Office and American Greeting Cards Company decided to get in the game.

And here we are, thinking about the most wonderful time of the year (can’t you just hear Johnny Mathis?) in the hottest month—at least where I live.

I love Christmas. The music, the baking, the shopping, the gift giving. Nothing beats a loved one’s facial expression as they tear away the red and green wrapping to find the perfect gift they didn’t know they wanted, but you did. You know that moment.

Because Caridad was so kind to allow me to spend some time with you, I wanted to share my love of Christmas in July. For a limited time, my Amazon #1 New Release, the book BookBub called “a charming second-chance romance,” Whispering Christmas, is on sale for $1.99

Grab your copy and stuff your e-reader in your beach tote or curl up by the fire come December with a good cup of tea and an emotional holiday tale. https://books2read.com/Whispering-Christmas
