The Monday Blues are a real thing, especially when you’re coming down from being on vacation! But without Mondays, Fridays wouldn’t feel so special! I’ve got a hectic week with work to be done both for writing and in the garden. I got a jumpstart in the garden yesterday morning and managed to repot the seedlings. Today I’m catching up on e-mails and work on #4 in the Crooked Pass Security series (still untitled). Last but not least, getting things ready for taking the baby to the beach this summer! Today is a very special day! No, it’s not because it’s Tax Day. Only the IRS celebrates that! Today I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to my wonderful son-in-law. We were blessed when he joined our family! He’s a great guy, caring and fun dad, great punster, and a loving husband. Wishing you all the best on your birthday! Oh, what a beautiful morning, Oh, what a beautiful day! Why? Because it’s National Gardening Day! I can’t wait to get my hands in the ground and plant all those seedlings that I’m carefully growing in my garage. Soon I’ll be able to harden them off with a few hours of sun in the cold frame and before you know it, they’ll be going into the ground. I’ve got about six or seven different kinds of tomatoes, two different kinds of peppers, more lettuce (some are already in and giving us salad!), and some flowers as well. This year I’m going to try and grow lots of zinnias, but I’ll be looking for other good companion plants come Mother’s Day! What about you? I know I have lots of garden lovers out there!

Now this is one day I can get behind: It’s National No Housework Day. If you ask my hubby, that’s nothing unusual with me which is so not true. While I don’t do the laundry, vacuuming or heavy cleaning, I do almost all the shopping, cooking, after-dinner clean-up and all the building and garden chores. I think that’s a fair deal, don’t you? What do I love about April? How about the warmer temps, longer days, and that perfect springtime energy? I just love being able to be outside more with all that extra sunshine. And I love being in the garden, seeing all the spring green that says things are coming back to life again. Plus it means summer is on the way! What about you? What do you love about April?

The moment the temperature creeps past 50, my mind immediately goes to spending time at the beach! I love packing up my beach bag with suntan lotion, some snacks and a drink, and the most important thing: a good book to read. I’m hoping to pick up a good book at today’s LSF Writers Book Fair at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hamilton, NJ. Join me and an amazing group of local authors from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in Salon B. The book fair is free for the general public so if you’re in the area, we’d love to see you!
