Pine Trees or Palm Trees & Good News!

It seems like spring weather is finally coming this week which means I’ll get to spend some time on the beach, reading under my umbrella. The beach is my happy place and yes, there are some palm trees since people bring them into their yards for the summer season. Of course, not like in Florida where the South Beach Security K-9 series is set! Or where…and here is where the good news comes…the SBS Colorado Spinoff will take place! I’m happy to say I’ll be writing another 4 books in the series and even more fun, you’ll get to visit with Rhea and Jackson from COLD CASE REOPENED, one of my fav books! So look for pine trees in the future SBS books. Now for today’s This or That! Do you prefer places with palm trees or those with pine trees? P.S. – Just one more day until the first book in the K-9 series — SABOTAGE OPERATION — hits the shelves!

National Classic Movie Day

It’s National Classic Movie Day and I have to confess, it’s been a long time since I sat down to watch a classic movie. But if I did, it would be a movie like Casablanca, Goldfinger, Rear Window, The Wizard of Oz, and To Catch a Thief. A favorite that’s not “classic” is A Walk in the Clouds with Keanu Reeves. There is something so over-the-top about these movies that draw you in, whether it’s the action, location, or cinematography. I had all three of those in mind when I wrote To Catch a Princess. This romantic suspense is set in luxurious Monaco and features a princess and detective trying to stop a cat burglar from stealing a collection of priceless jewelry. The princess is also battling against a marriage arranged by her parents. Little does she know that the detective who she’s falling is the secret prince her parents want her to marry! Help Stop Soldier Suicide

Happy Book Birthday to the Strength & Honor Anthology! When my friend and fellow author Sharon Hamilton asked me to take part in this anthology, I couldn’t say “no”, especially when I heard that the proceeds from the anthology would go to an organization that helps prevent soldier suicide. The Strength & Honor anthology contains 11 short stories featuring military heroes battling their inner demons and finding their happily ever after. My contribution to the anthology is Stay the Night, a steamy story about a Navy Seal who is coming home to a woman who is nothing like the young girl he left behind. Forced into marriage by an unexpected pregnancy, they find themselves separated by the demands of impending parenthood. Rafe enlists in the Navy Seals to support his new wife and the child who is on the way, but Fate is determined to throw them another curve. After Elena’s miscarriage and years of separation during Rafe’s tours of duty, have they grown too far apart or is love still possible between them? May the 4th Be With You

It’s that day when Star Wars fans will rejoice in the Force. I hate to admit it but I stopped watching Star Wars after the second three movies. I used to also love Star Trek and probably remained a fan of that series for far longer. I’d love to hear from you and what’s your fav: Star Wars or Star Trek! P.S. – I’m off at the Day of Wine and Roses today and tomorrow for a book signing! It’s at the Brook Hollow Winery in Columbia, NJ and if you’re in the area, I’d love to see you!

Countdown to Wine & Romance

Only one more week until the fabulous Day of Wine and Romance at the Brook Hollow Winery in Columbia, NJ! I’ll be there with my fabulous daughter (and her new books) as well as several of my author friends! Look for me at the Friday night Meet and Greet and at the book signing on both Saturday and Sunday. I’ll have copies of lots of my books, some fun book pins, and swag. Hope you can make it!

A security expert and his K-9
Will protect a stable owner at any cost

Excerpt

He walked to shut the door against the rain that continued to pound the house.

“We’ll call the police. Storm may take another half hour to clear, though. Are you dry and safe for now?” she asked.

He glanced at Teresa, who was still shaking from the wet and chill. “We’re safe. Dry not so much. We’ll stay here until the police arrive.”

“We’ll have some warm food waiting for you when you get here,” Mia said and ended the call.

He issued a hand command for Butter to stay, and before she settled herself down, she shook the rain off her short fur.

Returning to Teresa, he sat beside her and scooped her up into his lap.

She came without protest and burrowed into his warmth.

He wrapped his arms around her and little by little her body stopped shaking. She peered up at him, and this close he could see the lighter green shards in the depths of those jewel-tone eyes. And that perfect nose and those full lips. Natural lips, not fake, model ones.

She can be a model, she is so beautiful, he thought, cupped her cheek and ran his thumb across those tempting lips.
*
TERESA HAD BEEN grateful for the heat his body had provided, but now there was a different kind of heat building between them.

The butterfly-light pass of his thumb on her lips was as intimate as any kiss, and her body responded to it, nipples tightening against her damp T-shirt. Heat and wet pooled at her center.

It had been too long since she’d been with a man, and it hadn’t been a man like Matt. Big. Hard-bodied. Complex. She mimicked his action and cupped his jaw.

His skin was beard-rough beneath her palm. Hard much like the rest of him, but as she met his gaze, it was impossible to miss the need in his sapphire eyes.

Need that mirrored her own and she wasn’t about to deny him or herself.
