One of my favorite holidays is the 4th of July. I love celebrating the birthday of this amazing Nation. It’s especially exciting now that I’m on the Jersey Shore where I can spend the day on the beach, go home for a nice BBQ, and then come back to the boardwalk to watch one of the many fireworks shows that is happening. Today I’m sharing some photos from past 4th of Julys.

First Road Trip Stop Florence
We hit our first road trip stop in Florence without any major issues. Minor traffic although we did run into some heavy rains about half-a-dozen times. Despite that, we made good time and got to our hotel in time to unwind for a little bit before heading out for a dinner of delicious Southern food. My friend found Julie Belle’s which wasn’t far from our hotel. The food was delicious! I had some corn fritters with honey butter and we shared a Honey Pecan Chicken Sandwich and Fried Green Tomato BLT. I also had a side order of cheese grits. Delicious!! Today we’re off to Cape Canaveral for tomorrow’s start of the Space Coast Book Lovers Event! Can’t wait!

Celebrating a Great Conference
Today was the last day of the Space Coast Book Lovers Event. I had a very nice book signing and want to thank everyone who came by! After the signing, we rested for a little bit before getting ready for the closing night celebration. The theme was the Roaring 20s and we had a blast dressing up, dancing, and just having a fun time. Here are some photos from the event!

Mastering Point of View Workshop
I’m doing a workshop on Point of View for Savvy Authors from June 12 to June 18. It’s an online course and the cost is only $25 ($20 if you register by June 5!) I think that Point of View is probably one of the hardest things to understand and to do right. You may be ready to start a book or already writing one and something tells you the POV just isn’t working. Or you may be watching your characters play a game of tennis, sending the ball hopping back and forth from one character’s head to the other, causing confusion. Think you finally got it right? I’ll share some tips on how to check your POV to make sure it’s working effectively to tell your story in the best way! You can register at https://bit.ly/SavvyAuthorsMasterPOV.

Happy National Hamburger Day
I never thought about it until one of my daughter’s friends said, “You’re mom really likes hamburgers.” It occurred to me then that I ate a lot of hamburgers and honestly, hamburgers have to be my absolute favorite food. I love them medium with cheddar or blue cheese and caramelized onions. Nom nom. I probably will have a burger today when I get together with some friends later today. How about you? Are you a burger girl?
