#ThrowbackThursday – A Visit to South Beach

It’s been a while since I visited South Beach, but it was always a fun place to go. Nice beach, great architecture, Lummus Park, Lincoln Road, and amazing restaurants. Plus we always made time for a trip to Little Havana for some great Cuban food. When I was a kid we used to go to Miami regularly to visit with family and friends, so it was always interesting to see how the neighborhood changed and how it stayed the same. I’ve shared some of those thoughts and memories with you in SOUTH BEACH LOVE. I’ve also included some Easter Eggs for people who’ve read my other books set in South Beach. We might even do a little contest around that when SOUTH BEACH LOVE comes out in June 2020. For now, here’s a photo of South Beach that I took during my last visit there.

#WriteWed – Cover Reveals for 2020 Releases

I’m so excited about all that will be happening in 2020! Another book in the At the Shore series and a Hallmark book! Wow, Hallmark!! So exciting. I’m also working on lots of re-releases of my Harlequin books as well as a brand new book for Sourcebooks. That one will be a book of my heart as I’m including a lot of real-life stories about my family’s history in leaving Cuba and arriving in the United States (blessed to be here!). Also a major lifestyle change which I will share as soon as I can! SO EXCITING.

For now, a little teaser for the 2020 releases of NEVER A BRIDE, #3 in the At the Shore series (Carlo & Emma’s story) and SOUTH BEACH LOVE, a totally feel-good romance from Hallmark.

#TuesdayTreat – Check out my daughter in Forbes Magazine!

I was going to talk about my transformation but decided it would be a lot more fun to talk about my amazing daughter! I am so proud of her for all that she’s accomplished in life and how she’s touched so many lives in a positive way. That’s not to say she’s perfect since she and I both know she has her faults. But she’s fearless in going after what she wants and I’m proud of her for that. I’m also proud because she and her new project, Korean From Context aka K.F.C., were just featured in Forbes! Yep, you read that right. FORBES! So amazing. To check out the article in which she’s featured, please visit bit.ly/KFSSammie. #MondayBlues – Happy Monday is truly an oxymoron!

It’s no surprise that one of the most popular Monday hashtags is #MondayBlues because let’s face it, getting up on Monday mornings to go to work is tough after the weekend. It’s why Happy Monday is an oxymoron because very few people are happy on Monday morning. I always find it tough to get up at 5 a.m. (yes you read that right) and head to work instead of hanging out on my little balcony writing my heart out. And while walking on the NYC streets on my way to work can be fun at times, it doesn’t beat an early morning stroll on the boardwalk. Sigh. Is it any wonder that I’ve got Monday blues? How about you? Do you love Mondays?

#TravelTuesday – Come visit with me at the RWA Literacy Signing!

So excited to be heading off to the RWA National Conference this week! While hubby is minding the fort, I’ll be in New York City, mingling with old friends and making new ones. I’ll also be attending workshops, visiting with my publishers: Hallmark and Sourcebooks. More importantly, I’ll be taking part in the Literacy Signing on Saturday, July 27th. This wonderful event is from 3 to 5 pm in the Westside Ballroom (5th Floor) of the Marriott Marquis. Not only will you be able to meet hundreds of authors, but all the proceeds will be donated to a local literacy group. So if you’ll be in the New York City area on Saturday, please drop by and help out for a worthy cause.

#WriteWed – Why I love the Jersey Shore and a Free Read

I live for the warmer months down the shore where I can take long strolls along the boardwalk, sit under my umbrella and read a good book, and get out in my little garden to plant flowers and vegetables. I love being near the ocean and seeing its constant ebb and flow and all the life within its depths – except for the sharks. Luckily no close encounters with one of them. I also love the shore in the winter when I get to savor its peace and majesty without all the summer crowds. I’m blessed to live there and I love sharing it with you in my books, like ONE SUMMER NIGHT. Luckily, this Top 10 Publisher’s Weekly romance is free for the long holiday weekend! So use one of the links below to snag your copy of this lovely beach read!

#ThrowbackThursday – 4th of July Fireworks

I love the 4th of July! I love the parades and most especially the fireworks. I also love knowing that I’m in a country that where I have freedom and rights I would not have had in the country of my birth. It’s why I get choked up every time I hear the national anthem or God Bless America. I know I am the one who is blessed. For today, some photos of the fireworks from the Jersey Shore. Nothing is more fun than sitting on the beach and watching all the different fireworks shows. If you’re in the area, here’s a link to a list of fireworks in NJ: https://bestofnj.com/jersey-shore-fireworks.
