I hope you all have a great New Year and wishing you all the very best for 2018.

I’m looking forward to the Liberty States Fiction Writers Reader and Writers Conference in March! I’ll be a speaker there, will attend the book fair, and I’m sponsoring the Mardi Gras themed after party on Saturday. It looks like it’s going to be a great conference and I hope some of you will be able to make it. Did I forget to mention we have giveaways for you, like free books from some of our speakers? Thanks to awesome Dee Davis for this donation, but also look for donations from the wonderful Julie Kenner, myself and others like Sourcebooks! For more information on the conference and to register, please visit http://www.libertystatesfictionwriters.com/conference/.
So do you know what are the real Twelve Days of Christmas? They are the twelve days from Christmas Day to the eve of the Epiphany (Little Christmas or Los Reyes if you’re Latin). Each of the days either celebrates a saint or has a particular feast attached to it. You can read more about that here: https://www.whychristmas.com/customs/12daysofchristmas.shtml
The last night of the 12 Days is Twelfth Night and is the Eve of the Epiphany or Los Reyes. In my house we still celebrate the arrival of the Three Wise Men (or the Three Kings) and have a celebratory meal and exchange small gifts.
As for the song about the Twelve Days of Christmas, you know the one with the Partidge in Pear Tree, guess how much all those gifts would cost you this year! According to Business Insider, nearly $35,000! (see http://read.bi/2Dff58Q).

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve Eve and as some of you may know, Christmas Eve is our big night! That means that once I leave work today, it’s time to get to work at home! Finish decorating, start food shopping, and just getting ready to honor one of the most important days of the year. I love getting together with family and friends to celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! I’ll try to share Christmas Eve prep with you over the next few days!

Thanks Mike Cohea for this amazing timelapse of the super moon!
So now that the cat’s out of the bag that I ghostwrote SNOW FALLING, the novel from JANE THE VIRGIN, I can admit to my MAJOR crush on Jaime Camil who plays Rogelio, Jane’s father. The character on the show is over the top, self-centered, and yet totally lovable at the same time. It takes talent to create that blend and have Rogelio be so interesting. Of course, he’s also very sexy. Catnip to us cougars! LOL!
Jaime started his career as a radio commentator, began singing in the late 90s, and eventually became a telenovela star in Mexico before l landing roles in various films and on Broadway. In 2014 he took on the role of Rogelio de la Vega, Jane’s telenovela star father. You can find out more about Jaime at his website at http://jaimecamil.com/. Thanks to his Instagram account for this photo!
🗣 Is everybody here!? Is everybody ready? I certainly am for tomorrow & until July 3rd! Tkts chicagothemusical.com/ticket_info.php
