As you might have guessed from the contest last week, I was away for business! However I was lucky that the last night of our event was at the Seattle Center and I got to visit the Chihuly Glass and Garden. It was amazing and today I’m sharing a little video with the photos I took!

I can’t wait for the weekend, even if it’s going to be raining! I’ve got my awesome Liberty States Fiction Writers Meeting. I’m going shopping for some flower and vegetable plants. It was my birthday a few weeks ago and I didn’t get to celebrate with you the way I wanted because I was in the midst of deadline hell and helping to get ready for the big conference with my local writing group. Now that I have some time to breathe, I wanted to give you this birthday gift. So excited that our conference starts tomorrow! Today is all about getting ready for it by packing up tote bags for the attendees and getting everything prepped for Saturday and Sunday.

This goes in the “You can’t make this stuff up” bucket. The U.K. just appointed a Minister of Loneliness to deal with the results of a study that found over 9 million Brits “often or always feel lonely” according to the NY Times (see http://nyti.ms/2BekEDe). At the same time, a British parenting expert supports a ban on “best friends” in school (see http://dailym.ai/2BeMjDZ).
Hmmm. No best friends and more loneliness. Could there by a correlation? I’d love to hear what you have to say about it!
