Happy National Gardening Day!

Happy National Gardening Day! I don’t think I have to tell you how much I love gardening. It literally grounds me (big pun intended). There is something about getting my fingers in the soil and planting that makes me feel better. There are actually studies that say there are microbes and other things in the soil that benefit your well-being. I also love seeing my seedlings grow, become plants, and finally bear fruit! Audrey Hepburn said, “To plant a seed is to believe in tomorrow.” I definitely believe in tomorrow. This year, I’m going to get my little grandbaby playing in the dirt and watching seedlings grow! P.S. Having nothing to do with seeds, if you love baseball and spicy stories, you definitely want to check out the Marauders baseball romances. They are now FREE in Kindle Unlimited. Grab them at https://amzn.to/4dLc3On. If you’d rather something a little more dangerous and exciting, like a woman with amnesia on the run from a killer, preorder your copy of BURIED TRUTHS at https://amzn.to/4tEELVE.

Happy Canine Fitness Month

It’s Canine Fitness Month! For the K-9 agents of Crooked Pass Security and their law enforcement friends, it’s so important to keep their partners active and healthy. That’s one of the reasons that Sergeant Mark Dillon is taking his Cane Corso partner Rocky for a hike in the mountains. Cane Corso are large, powerful dogs that are often used for protection, tracking, and companionship, which makes Rocky the perfect canine for the investigation in BURIED TRUTHS. Mark and Rocky will be tasked with protecting the woman who comes crashing through the woods onto their trail, and who can’t remember who she is and why she’s afraid of the police. I can’t wait for you to read this story! It has a surprising twist that’ll shock you! Preorder your copy of BURIED TRUTHS at https://amzn.to/4cFEDPZ.

Happy April Fools’ Day

According to History.com, there are several possible origins for April Fools’ Day. One theory is that it relates to the change from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar and the confusion that some experienced. Those who could not remember when the year started, now on April 1, were considered April Fools. Then there is a possible connection to Ancient Rome and the celebration of Hilaria (joy), where people dressed up and often mocked others. Regardless of the origins, April 1st has become known as a day of pranks and jokes! P.S. It’s no joke that I have several books at 99 cents (https://amzn.to/4bLx36d) and also for FREE on Kindle Unlimited (https://amzn.to/3PAt7wv).

Happy National Black Forest Cake Day

Happy National Black Forest Cake Day! What could be better than a taste of tart cherries, chocolate cake, and whipped cream? A few years ago, we actually were able to eat Black Forest Cake in the Black Forest during one of our river cruise locations. We were lucky enough to visit a living history village ???? in the Blac k Forest to see how people actually lived in this area. It was a lovely day, strolling around the village and seeing the recreations of how different tools and foods were made. I’m sharing some photos from that visit! P.S. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned Black Forest Cake in a book! LOL! But if you want to get into some summer vibes early, how about picking up ONE SUMMER NIGHT for a taste of the Jersey Shore? It’s only 99 cents at https://amzn.to/4rYU36s.

Happy National Cheesesteak Day

I confess that I’d never had cheesesteaks regularly before going to college, but now they’re one of our favorites, and we have some good cheesesteak places near us. However, our fav place is a hole-in-the-wall eatery called The Dog House in New Castle, DE. It’s a tiny place with just counter service, but my family has been going there for decades. At first it was for the foot-long hot dogs, but then we tried out their cheesesteaks and loved them. Of course, there are the Philly places that are also great. Pat’s, Geno’s, and my daughter’s favorite, Dallesandros! What about you? Do you love cheesesteaks? P.S. Even though it’s not typical baseball stadium food, why not grab a cheesesteak while you cheer on your favorite team? Of course, you can also eat one while you read the Marauders baseball romances, as well as several other of my books for FREE on Kindle Unlimited. Happy Sloppy Joe Day

Did you know that the Sloppy Joe sandwich originated sometime in the late 1800s in the Midwest? Do you love Sloppy Joes? The frugal meat dish was very popular, especially during the Great Depression, as it helped stretch the meat with tomato sauce and other ingredients. But how did it come to be known as the Sloppy Joe? Some say it was after a cook named Joe in Iowa who decided to add tomato sauce to a loose meat sandwich. Others say it’s named after the Sloppy Joe Bar in Key West, also famous for being where Ernest Hemingway hung out. Of course, there’s the Manwich sauce, which made the meal a real hit in American homes. I remember eating many a Sloppy Joe growing up. Cubans have their own version, picadillo, which is one of my favorite meals. But picadillo is served over rice. Nom nom. Two favorite foods together! P.S. Nothing to do with Sloppy Joes, although there may be some picadillo in one of the stories that’s FREE for you on Kindle Unlimited. Grab your copies of one of my KU books at https://amzn.to/4ukO4Lv.
