Happy National New Jersey Day! I was raised on Long Island and loved it, but when it came time for hubby and me to buy a house, Long Island was unaffordable for various reasons. When a friend invited us for dinner at their New Jersey condo, we realized that New Jersey could provide the kind of life we wanted. We weren’t wrong. From our first small house to a bigger one when we had our daughter to our lovely condo on the Jersey Shore, we have loved New Jersey. There is so much to see and do here, and so many beautiful places. Today I’m sharing a little video showing you some of my lovely places down the shore! Enjoy! P.S. My love for the Jersey Shore is what inspired Sea Kiss, the fictional town in the At the Shore series. The first book, ONE SUMMER NIGHT, is specially priced at 99 cents. Happy National Wine and Cheese Day!
Happy National Wine and Cheese Day! When my husband and I were dating, we often went to a local wine and cheese place. It was the thing to do back then. It was very romantic to sip wine and snack on cheese and crackers while getting to know each other. I often wish that wine and cheese places would make a comeback. We used to sometimes sit and have wine and cheese when we got back from the beach, but we haven’t done that in years. Maybe we’ll start that up again! What about you? Do you like taking a break with a little wine and cheese? P.S. The ladies of the At the Shore series would definitely sit and have some wine and cheese while chatting about their love lives. You can grab the first book in the series, ONE SUMMER NIGHT, for only 99 cents at https://amzn.to/4o0DtCW.
Happy National Mango Day!
Happy National Mango Day! Mango is one of my favorite fruits, and I’m so happy that you can find them in most stores now. I love eating a sweet, ripe mango or making a mango smoothie. I even have mango ice cream in the fridge right now! With so many books set in South Beach, you can bet you’ll see an appearance of a mango in one of them. You can see all those South Beach books at https://amzn.to/4fMpAWm. Here’s a quick mango smoothie recipe for you!
Ingredients
1 cup chopped mango (fresh or frozen)
1 cup yogurt (unsweetened)
1/2 cup milk
4 tbsp honey or sugar (more or less depending on the sweetness of the mango)
1 cup ice
Directions
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Don’t like mangos? Substitute peaches or any other fruit of your choice!
Happy National Ice Cream Day!
Happy National Ice Cream Day! I’m heading home today and probably won’t get to celebrate by having a scoop of ice cream. I hope you’ll have a scoop on my behalf. My fav ice cream flavor lately is chocolate peanut butter from Callie’s Creamery. Callie’s is a local, family-owned shop. Unfortunately, they just suffered devastating damage thanks to some flooding. There’s a GofundMe to help raise money so they can reopen. I made a donation, and if you can spare even $1, it would be wonderful to help this family open their ice cream shop again. The GoFundMe is at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-rebuild-our-family-ice-cream-shop.

Happy National Mac and Cheese Day
Sweet dreams are made of cheese, who am I to dis-a-brie, I’ve traveled the world, looking for cheddar… LOL! I am a cheese lover, and what could be better than adding it to macaroni to make an ooey-gooey pan of cheese goodness? Happy National Mac and Cheese Day. I’m spoiled because my son-in-law makes the best mac and cheese! I love it whenever he makes it for us. I make mac and cheese for the grandbaby all the time, the easy way. Just add a little milk or half-and-half to cream cheese, melt, add a ton of cheddar to make the cheese sauce, and then add the pasta! He loves it! What about you? Do you love mac and cheese? P.S. I have several books that are either specially priced at 99 cents or free on Kindle Unlimited. You can download your copies at https://amzn.to/4aQMRnl.

Happy National Sugar Cookie Day!
Happy National Sugar Cookie Day! I think I love sugar cookies better than chocolate chip. I especially love snickerdoodles, which I think are a variation on a plain sugar cookie. This year, for our Christmas Cookie Exchange, I am most definitely going to make snickerdoodles. What about you? Do you love sugar cookies? P.S. If you want to read a book with cookies in it, I think Chef Carlo has made some in NEVER A BRIDE, #3 in the At the Shore series. The box set is specially priced at 5.99 for all 3 books at https://amzn.to/4vTQiBY.

Happy National Fried Chicken Day
Happy National Fried Chicken Day! I love fried chicken, but I confess we don’t eat it very often because we don’t do fried foods at home anymore. The most I muster is breaded chicken cutlets in our toaster oven, which has an air fry function. They come out pretty well, but they’re just not the same as fried. Occasionally, especially if we’re down South, we’ll get fried chicken at a restaurant, and nom nom. So tasty. What about you? Do you love fried chicken? P.S. Looking for a beach read? Check out ONE SUMMER NIGHT, the first book in the At the Shore contemporary romance series. It’s a Romeo and Juliet-style story with a marriage bargain and happily-ever-after set on the Jersey Shore! Even better, it’s specially priced at 99 cents at https://amzn.to/4o0DtCW.
