Happy National Daiquiri Day

Happy National Daiquiri Day! Before margaritas and tequila became the favorite drinks for many, we used to have daiquiris with rum as our fav fruity drink. I especially liked frozen strawberry margaritas, and today I’m sharing a simple recipe for one you can make at home in a blender! P.S. The ladies of the At the Shore books would absolutely sip one of these while chilling down the Jersey Shore! If you haven’t tried out this fun series of beach reads, grab the first book in the series, ONE SUMMER NIGHT, for only 99 cents at https://amzn.to/4f3aNot.

Ingredients

To Make the Simple Syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar

To make the daiquiri:

1 pound frozen strawberries
4 tablespoons simple syrup
1/8 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1 cup white/light rum
1 cup crushed ice

Directions

To Make the Simple Syrup:
Place 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a pan. Heat until sugar is totally dissolved. This may take 2-5 minutes. As soon as the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and let cool. Once cool, use it to make the daiquiri, but you can also use it to sweeten other things. The simple syrup with this ratio will last for 2-3 weeks in the fridge.

To make the daiquiri:
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Place frozen daiquiri into tall glasses. Garnish with a strawberry, lime slice/peel, and a straw! ENJOY! P.S. If the mix is not sweet enough, add some more of the simple syrup. You can also substitute agave nectar for the syrup, but be careful because it is a lot sweeter than simple syrup.

Happy Flag Day!

Happy Flag Day on the 248th Anniversary of the adoption of the flag by the Second Continental Congress! Also, a very Happy 250th Birthday to the U.S. Army. I fly my flag every day if I can, and am proud to do so. Although Cuban by birth, I am an American by choice, and know how blessed I am to be here. God bless America, and keep her safe from those who would tear her down. God bless our military members and their families who sacrifice so much for our freedoms.

Happy National Baking Day

I know I promised you some photos today, but I thought I’d take some more at the book signing and parties and share tomorrow. Today I’m sharing National Baking Day. I’m a pretty good cook, but sadly, I don’t do much baking. I wish I were better at making pies, cookies, and breads, especially since I love eating them. Luckily, hubby has become a fabulous sourdough bread maker. How about you? Do you love to bake? P.S. In honor of Book Lovers Con, Harlequin is having a special sale. Use the code BOOKLOVERS at Harlequin.com and get 25% off your purchase!

Rainy Day Book Event

It’s going to be a rainy day for our Belmar Beach Reader’s Book Fair and we’re hoping that won’t keep people away from visiting with us and all the other local authors at the event. My daughter and I will be there from noon to 4 pm! The book event is being held at the beautiful Taylor Pavilion, 500 Ocean Avenue, Belmar, NJ. I hope you can join us there but if not, what will you do on a rainy Saturday? P.S. Mention that you’re a follower on my blog and social media to score an author’s copy of CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING while supplies last!

Marzo è Pazzo

The Italians say that Marzo è pazzo which means March is crazy. I’ve got to agree with that. We’ve seen a rollercoaster of temperatures on the Jersey Shore, from the high twenties to today, when we will hit the low eighties! I’m going to take advantage of the weather and do some more planting. That’s the one thing that I love the most about March (besides my birthday!). I love being able to get started with some cold-hardy plants. What about you? What’s something that you love about March? P.S. Want to start your beach reading early? Then check out ONE SUMMER NIGHT, the first book in the At the Shore series and a Publishers Weekly Top 10 Romance. It’s specially priced at 99 cents. Grab your copy today at https://amzn.to/4bAG14B.
