Happy National Black Forest Cake Day! What could be better than a taste of tart cherries, chocolate cake, and whipped cream? A few years ago, we actually were able to eat Black Forest Cake in the Black Forest during one of our river cruise locations. We were lucky enough to visit a living history village ???? in the Blac k Forest to see how people actually lived in this area. It was a lovely day, strolling around the village and seeing the recreations of how different tools and foods were made. I’m sharing some photos from that visit! P.S. Happy National Pancake Day! I confess that when I go to my Sunday brunch with a dear friend, I rarely get pancakes. I’m usually an egg kind of girl, but my precious grandbaby loves the blueberry pancakes I make for him. Of course, it could be the butter and maple syrup on them, but still, it gets him to eat! What about you? Do you love pancakes, and if so, what kind? Plain? Blueberry? Whole grain? I’d love to know! Have a great Saturday. I’m off to do some writing and a dreaded top-to-bottom clean of the kitchen.
It’s National Inspire Your Heart with Art Day! I know that you all regularly allow art to inspire you through the books you read. But I hope you also get inspiration from a beautiful photo, sculpture, or even a fantastical garden, like the one that inspired Monet at Giverny. Art inspires so many emotions. Joy. Tears. Laughter. Thoughtfulness. I am grateful for all the artists in my life who have brought me so much inspiration! P.S. It’s always fun when you see the cover for a new release! I just received the cover for BURIED TRUTHS, my May 2026 release in the Crooked Pass Security series. It’s an action-packed story about a K-9 handler who discovers an injured woman during an early morning hike. Not only is she injured, she can’t remember who she is!
