Happy National Fluffernutter Day

According to NewEngland.com, we owe the existence of the Fluffernutter to Archibald Query who developed the recipe for the marshmallow creme that would become Fluff, a New England product. But it wasn’t until the 1960s that the Fluffernutter sandwich was born. A sweet and nutty combo of peanut butter and Fluff sandwiched between two layers of bread, it was always a hit whenever our mom or grandmom let us have a Fluffernutter for lunch! What about you? Do you love Fluffernutters? P.S. I can say without a doubt that I have never included a Fluffernutter in one of my books! LOL. But I do want to share that there are only 49 days until the release of KILLER IN THE KENNEL, #3 in the South Beach Security K-9 Division spinoff! All the books in the series are standalone but with connected characters. You can pre-order your copy at https://amzn.to/3Yb6YGJ.

Happy National Fire Pup Day

Happy National Fire Pup Day! Who wouldn’t want 101 loveable Dalmatian fire pups? But how did Dalmatians become associated with firefighters? Apparently, Dalmatians were associated with horse-drawn coaches and when fire engines used to be horse-drawn, they would help clear the way so the engines could reach a fire and then, stay behind with the horses and help calm them! Interesting right? I don’t have any books with fire pups, although it might be interesting to write some, including pups who help identify arson cases. But I do have K-9s who help find missing people and cadavers in KILLER IN THE KENNEL. You’ll love this action-packed book which features a loveable bloodhound who will help South Beach Security find the serial killer at their new K-9 training facility. Tempting Teaser from Sabotage Operation

It’s Teaser Tuesday and I’m sharing a steamy scene from SABOTAGE OPERATION. In this teaser, Matt and Teresa have been caught in one of those typical, tropical Florida afternoon showers while searching for clues to find out who is attacking Teresa’s stable. They’ve taken shelter in a neighbor’s house and discover that the suspect may have broken in to the home to use it as a base for his attacks. But as they wait for the rain to pass so they can call the police, the attraction that has been simmering between them grows until they can no longer deny it. You can download your copy of SABOTAGE OPERATION at https://amzn.to/3YELoej.

He issued a hand command for Butter to stay, and before she settled herself down, she shook the rain off her short fur.

Returning to Teresa, he sat beside her and scooped her up into his lap.

She came without protest and burrowed into his warmth.

He wrapped his arms around her and little by little her body stopped shaking. She peered up at him, and this close he could see the lighter green shards in the depths of those jewel-tone eyes. And that perfect nose and those full lips. Natural lips, not fake, model ones.

She can be a model, she is so beautiful, he thought, cupped her cheek and ran his thumb across those tempting lips.

TERESA HAD BEEN grateful for the heat his body had provided, but now there was a different kind of heat building between them.

The butterfly-light pass of his thumb on her lips was as intimate as any kiss, and her body responded to it, nipples tightening against her damp T-shirt. Heat and wet pooled at her center.

It had been too long since she’d been with a man, and it hadn’t been a man like Matt. Big. Hard-bodied. Complex. She mimicked his action and cupped his jaw.

His skin was beard-rough beneath her palm. Hard much like the rest of him, but as she met his gaze, it was impossible to miss the need in his sapphire eyes.

Need that mirrored her own and she wasn’t about to deny him or herself.

Bending, she covered his lips with hers, moaning at the feel of them and his muscled body against hers.

He returned the kiss, meeting her lips over and over until it wasn’t enough, and he opened his mouth on hers with a soft groan.

His growing hardness registered against the softness of her hip and her insides pulsed with need as she imagined being with him.

The loud pounding of a fist on the front door and Butter issuing sharp, insistent barks had them jerking apart and shooting to their feet.

Her rough breathing sounded harsh and overly loud to her ears as Matt raced over and jerked the door open.

Welcome Crooked Pass Security

I’m so excited that I now have the official title for the first book in the South Beach Security spinoff that finds Sophie and Robbie Whitaker in Colorado: Cliffside Kidnapping. In this story, Sophie and Robbie must help their cousin Jackson Whitaker, now the Regina Police Chief, rescue their parents who have been kidnapped by the criminals who have stolen evidence and hacked a police database to hide their crimes. The first book in the series features Sophie who will meet her match in Colorado Bureau of Investigation Agent Ryder Hunt and his sidekick Delilah, a Corgi whose failed K-9 training (thanks to everyone who asked for this!) I’m also excited about the new series title: Crooked Pass Security! I can’t wait for you to see what’s happening with Jackson and Rhea, the hero and heroine in COLD CASE REOPENED which is one of my fav books. If you haven’t read COLD CASE REOPENING, you can grab your copy https://amzn.to/4fqjRDp.

Meet Hero Carlos Ruiz

One of the best parts of writing a story is coming up with the characters and giving them unique attributes to bring them alive for readers. In ESCAPE THE EVERGLADES, the hero is ex-Marine Carlos Ruiz, a widower with a ten-year-old son. Carlos lost his wife in car crash and is now raising his son alone while also running an Everglades tour company. A determined environmentalist, Carlos uses his business and skills to try and preserve the unique Everglades habitat. It is during a trip to check on a female jaguar that Carlos had tagged that he and his son run across poachers stealing alligator eggs. Although Carlos and his son are able to escape when the poachers fire on them, a series of incidents at the business force Carlos to call on his friend and SBS head Trey Gonzalez for protection. I loved writing Carlos who is a dedicated single dad and business owner. Carlos has a big and loving heart and it was a joy to bring him together with SBS K-9 Agent Natalie Rodriguez. I hope you’ll love him too! Snag your copy today at https://amzn.to/3zBqiD5.

Welcome Fantasy Author Lydia Weltman

Please give a big hello to fellow author Lydia Weltman who writes fantasy adventures! I’ve invited Lydia to visit and share some info about herself and her upcoming release! P.S. – The books are inspired by Victorian London and you know how much I love London!

Hi there, I’m Lydia Weltmann, and I write fantasy adventures! Thanks so much to Caridad for inviting me here to chat with you all!

I’ve always loved escaping into a book and seeing what new worlds I could visit within them, or visiting other time periods of our own world. London is a favorite destination of mine, both in books and in real life, and I can’t help pulling from London when I’m designing new worlds.

My current series draws a lot of inspiration from Victorian London, but with some fantasy elements and a steampunk aesthetic added in. The series focuses on two long lost brothers reconnecting and learning what it means to be brothers again while facing all the challenges of the growing rebellion.

To celebrate book three’s upcoming release this fall, I’m offering one lucky winner books one AND two!

Here’s a quick teaser of book one:

This was the apple’s fault.

I flailed my way to the river surface with a large gasp, bruised apple clutched in my right hand. I stood a better chance at swimming if I had both hands, but no way was I letting go of the apple now. It was the fruit’s fault I was in this mess.

Okay, technically, stealing the apple might have started the chase, leading to the guards cornering me on the bridge. Which led to me jumping off the bridge to escape.

Admittedly, not my best plan. I regretted the choice the second I sank into the icy river and remembered two very important things.

One: It was March and the river was freezing.

Two: I didn’t know how to swim.

My Favorite Foods! Share Your Favs!

Everyone has their favorite foods that they would choose almost every time. With my Cuban heritage, my favs lean in that direction. A tasty Cuban sandwich. Roast pork (essential for the sandwich LOL!) Ropa vieja, a flavorful dish of shredded beef in tomato sauce. Maduros, those sweet ripe plantains that everyone devours on Christmas Eve. What are your favorite foods? Share them with us and why you love them! You may know that food sometimes plays a big role in my books, like South Beach Love which has the two chefs and More than a Mission where the heroine is a chef. But you may not know about Tori Got Lucky which I re-released as Charity Pineiro. (Charity is my nickname). Tori Got Lucky is set in Miami and you’ll find mention of lots of my fav foods in that story and its sequel, To Catch Her Man. If you love stories about women facing big changes in their friendships and lives, you might want to check it out at https://amzn.to/338Mcdu. Here’s a teaser for it:

Finding Mr. Right wasn’t what she had in mind . . .

When Tori got lucky, she never imagined that her one night fling would turn into something more. But her birthday surprise turns out to be “the one” and before long, she and Gil are talking about making it something a little more permanent.

There’s just one problem. Okay, maybe more than one. Like Tori’s three best friends who fear that once Tori gets married, she’ll disappear as so many of their friends have over the years. And her mother and father who are making all kinds of noises about Tori and Gil’s plans for a quick and simple wedding. Not to mention Tori’s perfect sister with her new little baby. . .

With pressure building from all sides, Tori and Gil do the only possible thing: Elope. But can their new marriage survive the demands of friends, family, and their own insecurities?

Only time will tell whether Tori truly got lucky.
