My mom has been on my mind a lot lately, maybe because the new book I’m working on contains many real-life stories about my mother, our journey to the United States, and the aftermath of it. I tried for many years to write about my mother but couldn’t. I felt stymied because there was so much emotion connected to the story. Including her story in a fictionalized work, through the eyes of other characters, has freed me to explore those emotions and build on them to create a tale about the journey of three women to find each other and for one, to find love. So for today, here’s a picture of my mom taken when she was just a toddler. Amazing how dressed up she was for the photo!

#ThrowbackThursday – Philadelphia Flower Show 2020
With all that’s going on, I think we could all use a dose of beauty! Today I’m sharing photos from this year’s Philadelphia Flower Show in early March. It was lovely and I had a great time hanging out with my sister, niece, and a family friend. I can’t wait until next year and more importantly, to do more work in the garden soon. I’ve already been able to plant a few things and just got a shipment of bulbs that need to go in for spring and summer flowers. I can’t wait.
#ThrowbackThursday – Longwood Gardens, Blog Tour & Giveaway
It feels like spring is already here, but I can never wait that long. In addition to the Philadelphia Flower Show, my sister and I did a trip to Longwood Gardens to see their annual orchid show. You can see photos from that trip in the gallery below.

#ThrowbackThursday – A Day of Flowers
It’s about that time of year where I get antsy for Spring and warmer weather! Sadly we’re only a third of the way through winter so there’s only one way to stay sane – the Philadelphia Flower Shower (although I must confess to a new love as well – Longwood Gardens!)
Today’s throwback is to the 2012 Flower show. I think the theme was Hawaii based on the photos that I took. The theme this year is Riviera Holiday and I can’t wait to see what they do for that! To find out more about the show, you can visit https://theflowershow.com/.

#ThrowbackThursday – The Jersey Shore and ONE SUMMER NIGHT
Today’s throwback is to a summer day on the Jersey Shore. I don’t know about you, but I love the summer! Photos like this keep me going through the cold and dreary winter days. Speaking of the Jersey Shore, my love of the shore is what inspired the At the Shore series. The first book in the series, ONE SUMMER NIGHT, is now specially priced for 99 cents. If you’re in the mood for a good beach read to keep you going through the winter, please check it out at https://books2read.com/onesummernight. ONE SUMMER NIGHT was a Publishers Weekly Top 10 Fall Romance and was also featured in the NY Times. That doesn’t happen very often to us romance writers. LOL!
This photo is of the beach at Ocean Grove. It was a slightly overcast day and the yellow flags were out, something we don’t like to see, but any day you can be at the beach is a good day.

#ThrowbackThursday – Outer Banks Trip
One of the things I’ve wanted to do as part of writing full-time is to visit new places as inspiration for new stories! For that reason, hubby and I did a road trip and did some quick visits to places that have always interested me. First up, the Outer Banks. I’ve always been fascinated by this strip of land that’s so exposed to the threat of hurricanes, but is also home to the birthplace of aviation – Kitty Hawk — and apparently the largest sand dune on the East Coast. Sadly the time we arrived and weather made it impossible to do a hike up the sand dune, but we were able to visit Kitty Hawk and the Wright Brothers Memorial before a nasty storm chased us home. So today I’m sharing some photos of that location. The view from the top of the memorial was amazing and if you look carefully, you can see the faint outline of one of the Outer Banks lighthouses in one of the photos from the top of the memorial. It’s definitely given me some ideas for a location like this in future novels!
