#ThrowbackThursday – The Happy Couple

Okay, I’m in freak out mode about my daughter’s upcoming wedding! Right now I’m dealing with the bridal shower stuff and getting the house ready and then it’ll be the fittings and all the last minute details. Of course, those are all happy things to be dealing with! LOL! We are so happy for our daughter and happy that her fiancé will become part of our family. He is a wonderful young man who truly gets our daughter and makes her laugh and smile. We are lucky that she chose him and can’t wait to be beside them as they take this journey into the next phase of their lives.

#ThrowbackThursday – A Jersey Shore Summer and Special Pricing on ONE SUMMER NIGHT

I so love the Jersey Shore! I love the pace of life there and being surrounded by nature. Yes, there is nature there. It’s not all like what you see on that show that shall not be named. This year we’re being treated to the return of some endangered bird and plant species: the plover, black skimmer, and beach amaranth. It’s exciting to see them coming back.

I love going on my little balcony to write and then taking a long stroll along the boardwalk. Oftentimes I’ll go to Ocean Grove, one of the towns that is the basis for Sea Kiss, the fictional town in my At the Shore series. I love the quaint Victorian homes and Main Avenue with all its shops. My daughter used to have a shop there and you’ll see cameos with her in the first two books in the series!

Speaking of the series, the first book, ONE SUMMER NIGHT, is now specially priced for 99 cents. If you’re in the mood for a good beach read, please check it out at https://books2read.com/onesummernight. ONE SUMMER NIGHT was a Publishers Weekly Top 10 Fall Romance and was also featured in the NY Times. That doesn’t happen very often to us romance writers. LOL!

This photo is of the beach at Ocean Grove. It was a slightly overcast day and the yellow flags were out, something we don’t like to see, but any day you can be at the beach is a good day.

#ThrowbackThursday – Ocean Grove Pier

I am intrigued by shapes and textures and if I see something interesting I have to take a photo and see what it will take me.

This is a shot of the Ocean Grove Pier from beneath the pier. There was something about the wooden beams and slats that called to me to take the photo from this perspective.

#ThrowbackThursday – A Day at the Beach

I grew up on Long Island and we spent most of our summers either at the town pool or going to Jones Beach. I love the water and love being near the ocean. When the kids got older, we regularly did trips to Ocean City, Maryland for a vacation at the beach or to Ocean City, New Jersey. This is a photo of my daughter during one of those vacations! So much fun to see my little girl who’s grown into such a wonderful young lady (who’s about to get married in a few months!). I’m really looking forward to more time at the beach in the future!

#ThrowbackThursday – When it gets too hot…

I remind myself that it could be like this! LOL! While I love a nice snow and some heat, the weather we’re about to get in the New York City area is brutal. Especially in the city where the bricks and buildings heat up and create what we call The Pizza Oven Effect. It truly feels like you’re being baked. But again, probably better than dealing with snow like this which fell on the Jersey Shore in December 2010. Hope you all have a Happy Friday Eve!

#ThrowbackThursday – 4th of July Fireworks

I love the 4th of July! I love the parades and most especially the fireworks. I also love knowing that I’m in a country that where I have freedom and rights I would not have had in the country of my birth. It’s why I get choked up every time I hear the national anthem or God Bless America. I know I am the one who is blessed. For today, some photos of the fireworks from the Jersey Shore. Nothing is more fun than sitting on the beach and watching all the different fireworks shows. If you’re in the area, here’s a link to a list of fireworks in NJ: https://bestofnj.com/jersey-shore-fireworks.

#ThrowbackThursday – Happy Anniversary!

Hubby and I just celebrated an anniversary – a Big One! Hard to believe it’s been so long since we started dating in college. This is a photo from the first summer we dated. Gotta love that Huckapoo shirt that was all the rage at the time. Anyway, Happy Anniversary! Here’s to many many more!
