#ThrowbackThursday – My daughter, the introvert!

I know that some of you who know me well will scoff at this, but I am actually quite shy. It has taken me a lot to become a “people person.” Ditto for my hubby. We had to work at being more extroverted. On the other hand, there’s my daughter who grew up seeing my hubby and I be social and is incredibly good with people. She just knows how to reach them and be a friend. I admire her for the many people she touched over the years at her surf and skate shop. So, she’s not an introvert at all and she’s always shown her emotions, real or fake, in many ways. This is just a small montage of some of my fav photos of her!

#ThrowbackThursday -It’s Time for a Wedding!

I think I may have mentioned – LOL I’ve mentioned it a lot – that my baby is getting married. We are very happy for her and for her fiancé who is a lovely young man. We are very happy to welcome him and his family to ours! Since weddings are on the mind, I thought I’d share family photos of some our weddings. The first one to the left is my parents. The middle one is hubby’s parents. To the extreme right are hubby and me! We were such babies when we got married! I’ll post my daughter’s wedding photo as soon as I can after the November 1 wedding.

#ThrowbackThursday – Thank You for Being a Friend

So sorry I’ve been silent for the last week, but I was busy with preparations for my daughter’s bridal shower! We had so much fun! I’m sharing some photos from that event for you. Now it’s on to the November 1 wedding. Can’t wait. (And darn I can’t believe I didn’t get a picture of the spread of food I made!!! Ugh or the dining room with all our guests!!!) P.S. – That’s my wedding gown that my daughter wore for the shower!

#ThrowbackThursday – A long ago summer

With my daughter’s wedding coming up, family is very much on the brain, both those that we so happy will be joining us as well as those that are gone. This is a picture of me with my siblings and my parents. I am so looking forward to having the siblings at the wedding, but sadly my parents are long gone. This photo was snapped on a visit to a park out on Long Island. It was a great day filled with fun, friends, and family.

#ThrowbackThursday – Labor Day

Since it was my daughter’s birthday the other day I thought I’d share this photo taken the day before her birth. You might say that Labor Day has a whole new meaning in this picture! LOL!

#ThrowbackThursday – A Dad and his New Daughter

My daughter is such a Daddy’s Girl and it’s no wonder. My husband has been there for her through every step of her life. Some might even say he’s indulged her from daily notes in her lunchbox to regular e-mails and letters while she was studying abroad. Both little and big things that hopefully let her know that he will always have her back. Not that there isn’t bluster when she does something he doesn’t like because he’s also not afraid to set her straight. This picture was taken the night after she was born and I just love it!

#ThrowbackThursday – Visits to the Green Market

One of the things I love is visiting the Green Market on Wednesdays to see what fresh local produce they have. I love picking up some nice greens, turnips, beets, carrots or more to cook at home. There definitely is a real taste difference when your food is that fresh! Yesterday I picked up some candy cane beets that I’m busy roasting for dinner tonight. As for the beet greens, I’ve cleaned them and put them away to cook with some olive oil and garlic tomorrow as a side dish. Nom nom nom. Check out the other photos from some of my other visits to the market.
