#ThrowbackThursday #TeamDonald

I love going to Disneyworld! I just get caught up in the escape factor of being in their made-up worlds which is why I guess one of my favorite movies is Beauty and the Beast (the animated version). And while I love Mickey, I have to say that my favorite is Donald Duck. Don’t know why, but I just love his crazy moods and mumbling to himself kind of speech. I find it endearing. So here’s a picture of my clan with none other than the duck himself, say hello to #TeamDonald!

#ThrowbackThursday Mets Fan at the Phillies

We love baseball in our family and we love the Mets! With my daughter being in school in Philly, however, it was sometimes easier to go down there to see a game than head to Shea. This is one of those trips. If you ask me, the Phillies Fanatic doesn’t look too pleased to see us in our Mets gear! LOL.

#ThrowbackThursday Mr. Met and Me!

A year that promised to be so much turned into an injury-prone nightmare for us Mets fans and the team. It’s hard to believe just how many players went out with serious injuries almost before the season got started. Oh well. There is always next year!

So here I am with Mr. Met. He was at one of local bank branches and I couldn’t resist getting a photo with him. I hope Mrs. Met doesn’t get jealous.

#ThrowbackThursday A Trip to Mexico

I’ve been very lucky that my day job has let me visit Mexico on a number of occasions. I’ve been to Mexico City, Guadalajara and Tequila. Fascinating places, great food and good-hearted people.

I’ve been fascinated by the Aztecs and the Maya since I read The Conquest of Mexico and Peru as a kid. It’s no wonder that I decided to set two of my books in Mexico: Aztec Gold and The Fifth Kingdom. The Fifth Kingdom in particular is one of my favorite books and it features the Sun Stone, a symbol of Mexico, in the story. That’s the Sun Stone in the bottom left of this photo! It was truly a pleasure to share with you how the Aztecs lived and their culture, as well as their gods and goddesses.

P.S. – My fascination with the Maya was in large part responsible for inspiring the Sin Hunters and the special powers that you first see in THE LOST.
