I know that some of you, like me, made resolutions and I’m wondering how you’re doing. I had made a list of five things that I wanted to do in the New Year and I’ve been able to do a few of them, namely, write something different, spend more time with family and friends, and learn something new each day. The last was easy since lately I’ve been watching a lot of documentaries while I write. What I haven’t been good about is getting more sleep and getting healthier in every way. Today is National Clean Off Your Desk Day and I have a confession: I don’t have a desk. Well, not a desk with a top and legs. I use a lap desk for my laptop when I write or surf the Internet. I guess it’s because I used to do the bulk of my writing on the train during my daily commute to work. Then I would spend nearly ten hours at my desk at work and when I got home, the last thing I wanted to do was sit at a desk. When I retired, there wasn’t an easy way to set up my office with a desk, and in truth, that didn’t matter to me because I like being able to move around and decide where to write.
