This or That: Coffee or Tea

It’s one of life’s most difficult decisions to make: coffee or tea? I’m an equal opportunity girl although I normally must have coffee in the morning but prefer tea in the afternoon or evening. What about you? Coffee or tea? P.S. – I’ve always wanted to have tea out of a big silver samovar like Princess Tatiana might have. She’s the heroine in To Catch a Princess, one of my fav romantic suspense books! You can read more about her at https://amzn.to/4bmWwzI.

The Olympics of Everyday Things

I’ve started seeing the buzz about the upcoming summer Olympics in Paris. As a kid, I pictured myself taking part in them. I was a pretty good field hockey and tennis player but nothing that would ever qualify me for such an event. It got me thinking about all the everyday things I do and whether any of them would be medal-worthy. Things like writing books, cooking, or gardening might be something that could earn me a spot on the podium. What about you? What kinds of everyday things do you think you shine in? P.S. – The heroine in SABOTAGE OPERATION was an Olympic equestrian before a life-threatening accident sent her on a different path in life!

This or That: Flowers or Veggies

Happy Earth Day! As you may know from following me, I am an avid gardener but I’m also a ruthless one. If my plants don’t give me either flowers, interesting leaves, or vegetables, they are gone from my garden. The main reason for that is that in my new forever home I only have a small space to grow things and so I really have to get a big bang for my buck. What about you? Do you like to garden and if so, do you prefer to plant flowers, veggies, or both? I do a lot of both and some of my favorite things to plant are pansies which remind me of my mom and tomatoes. Nothing tastes better than a sun-ripened tomato straight off the plant! These are photos of some of the things I’ve grown in my little garden! P.S. In one of my favorite romantic suspense books – MORE THAN A MISSION – the heroine is a chef who grows a lot of what she cooks and serves to her patrons.

Happy Girl Scout Cookie Season!

It’s that time of year! To tell the truth, however, I had a hard time finding a spot where a local Girl Scout troop was dealing…I mean selling their cookies. It’s always a dilemma choosing which ones to buy. Hubby is hands down a Thin Mints lover. I’m not so set on what to buy. This year I hemmed and hawed between Trefoils, Samoas, Tag Alongs, and the Lemony cookies. I ended up buying two boxes of Thin Mints for hubby and one each of the Samoas and Lemony cookies for myself. Normally I would buy the shortbreads which are my absolute fav but luckily I had a box of those given to me by the awesome Madison Fairbanks! THANK YOU! What about you? What’s your favorite Girl Scout cookie? P.S. Only 36 more days until the release of SABOTAGE OPERATION. I am so excited for you to be able to get your hands on this first book in the new SBS K-9 series plus…I hope to share some exciting news soon about the SBS world.

This or That: Playful or Protective

I absolutely love Corgis. I dare you to look at one of their faces and not smile! They seem perpetually happy with their elfish grins and having been used for herding, they’re smart, obedient, full of energy, and can be trained easily. Even though they have all those good traits, I couldn’t picture having a Corgi as a K-9 hero in my new South Beach Security K-9 series. After much thought, I chose a Belgian Malinois as the K-9 hero in SABOTAGE OPERATION, the first book in the series. A Belgian Malinois is protective and smart and the breed was once also used as herding dogs but they’re now a favorite of law enforcement and the military. Still, I think that if I were to own a dog, it would be a Corgi. What about you? Would you pick a Corgi, Belgian Malinois, or do you have some other favorite breed?

Exciting and Unusual Locations

Real estate agents will tell you that location is everything when choosing a home. Readers are a little more forgiving thankfully! I know many of you like stories set on ranches or the Pacific Northwest. I took a risk to set my new series in Florida and places like Miami and the Everglades and hope you’ve been enjoying those locations in the South Beach Security series. But that made me think about some out-of-the-world locations literally. I haven’t set any stories in space like my friend and fellow author K.M. Fawcett, but I have had some in the ocean like The Shifter’s Kiss. That makes me wonder if you’d ever read books either set in outer space or in the deep sea. Which of those would you choose or if not, what other location do you like seeing in your books!

This or That: Bath or Shower

My daughter just loves taking a long soak in a sudsy, scented bath. I, on the other hand, prefer a nice long hot shower. There is something about the warm water cascading over me that not only relaxes me, it helps me work through things like a gnarly plot point or other mental roadblock. Sometimes I use some bath salts or a shower bomb to get some calming smells in there! What about you? Do you prefer a nice soak or a tranquilizing shower? P.S. I’ve got a number of books available on Kindle Unlimited for FREE or if you’re not in KU, specially priced at 99 cents for a limited time. You can download them at https://amzn.to/3SG2rtz.
