When the weather turns colder and the snow starts to come down, I hold onto thoughts of the Philadelphia Flower Show in March and tell myself I can survive another winter. Kind of like the young artist in O. Henry’s The Last Leaf. As I looked through photos of last year’s flowers, this one caught my eye. You may wonder why since the last thing it screams is “Spring!” and yet I thought, this is a plant that says “I’m not what you expect!” Some people are like that also, all prickly and gruff on the outside, but with souls as pretty as that flower once you get to know them. #WorkoutWednesday – The Bear Crawl
I haven’t shared progress in a month and am sad to say there’s been little progress. In fact, a setback with all the wedding prep and celebrations. But I’m back at it and trying not to get frustrated, which happens often on this health journey of mine. For today I’m sharing an exercise that I’ve heard a lot about and have to try: The Bear Crawl. When you watch this video you’ll think, looks easy enough, but I’m told it’s not. The nice thing about it is that it works all parts of your body and you can do it anywhere you have enough space. No weights or fancy equipment to do this exercise. Always a good thing if you’re not near a gym. If you see me doing this on the beach next summer, join in!

#WisdomWednesday – Gratitude and Giving Thanks
As I dashed through the stores right before Halloween to get ready for the trick-or-treaters and finish wedding preparations, it was impossible to miss that EVERYONE already had Christmas items for sale. Sigh. Don’t get me wrong. I love Christmas and all that goes with it, including keeping it about family and the arrival of the baby Jesus.
But I don’t like that we are passing over one of the most important and thoughtful holidays – Thanksgiving. The name says it all and in truth, we shouldn’t limit giving thanks to once a year. Each and every day we should think about all that we have to be thankful for in our lives. That practice of gratitude is one that can be life-altering and bring you a more positive outlook. Personally I try to thank God every night for all that I have although I do confess to falling asleep many times before I do that, but I try. For now, here is a non-exhaustive list of all the things for which I am grateful:
