Wicked Wednesday – A Wickedly Good Review and Nomination!

It’s always nice to hear from all of you or to find out online that someone really enjoyed your book! This week it’s been a dose of doubly good online news about two different books. The new, but promising to be wonderful blogspot, PASSION POSTINGS, offered up a great review of the SOUTH BEACH CHICAS books.

Tech for free!

pc.jpgWhenever I buy a new computer for the office or home, I’m always astounded at how the biggest part of the price is for the software! Now, I understand that there’s development costs and the like, but it’s still a big chunk of money to put down for something that you will have to buy again in a few years.

So because of that, I am always on the lookout for freeware or shareware that’s inexpensive and keeping my eye open for new ways of doing things that will make my life easier.

Guilty Pleasures Monday – Football Players

football1.jpgI have to confess. I spent part of Saturday and Sunday watching football. I haven’t done it in years, but this year hubby and I got back into watching the Jets and Giants.

We won’t even talk about the Jets, but the Giants have been a pleasant surprise. Yesterday’s game was amazing. A 48 second touchdown drive and a second half defense that held back the Cowboys. Go Giants! Don’t think they’ll beat Old Man Brett Favre and the Packers, but I can hope. Continue reading “Guilty Pleasures Monday – Football Players”

Fun Friday – A new addition to the blog

I could not wake the inner Fashionista this morning. The weather was gloomy and wet. The only thing I could think about was slipping on my Columbia rain/winter boots so that my feet wouldn’t get wet.

I hate wet feet. Must be the cat in me!

Actually, the more I thought about, the more I realized how hard it is for me to do the Fashionista thing on a regular basis now that my daughter is on hiatus due to the demands of school.

So it occurred to me to spice Fridays up by offering some fun stuff that I can do! So, look for Fun Fridays on a regular basis. I’ll be posting things you can do on the ‘Net as well as possibly some humorous jokes that have come my way.

To get you started – some online puzzles. When I was a kid, my mom, sis and I would spend hours together working on puzzles. One time it took us a few months to finish one of those really complex gazillion piece puzzles, but we did it!

Thoughtful Thursday – Hope and Sadness

My wonderful friend and fellow author Irene Peterson always seems to find something interesting to send my way. Whether it’s something about a weird paranormal adventure or in this case, the land of my birth — Cuba.

Yesterday Irene sent me a link about the renovations going on in Old Havana. The New York Times article talks about Eusebio Leal Spengler and how Mr. Leal was given extraordinary powers by my friend (NOT!) Fidel, who allows Mr. Leal to collect taxes and use the profits from tourism in the old center to rebuild this area. (Collect taxes and use the profits?
