Sunday Baseball Vibes

Good morning! We had quite a storm last night, but I’m hoping that it brought some cooler weather with it! It’s actually been too hot to go to the beach, my favorite place to be! After brunch with a friend and a quick trip to the store for some necessities, I’m hoping to hit the beach and get some reading done. Maybe come home and watch some baseball. We’ve been watching the Orioles and Rangers now. Our new teams! Hubby is following the Orioles because of Alonso, and I’m a Rangers fan because of Nimmo. Happy National I Forgot Day!

Happy National I Forgot Day! I don’t know about you, but lately I forget a lot of things, like what I was about to do a minute earlier when I said I had to do… I think it’s because I have so much on my mind. Besides writing #3 in the new Crooked Pass Security K-9 Division series and creating a new series for you, I’m involved on the board of my condo and local writing group. Exciting Cover Reveal DARKNESS CALLS

DARKNESS CALLS is a book of my heart for several reasons. I was in a very dark place in my life when I decided to write it. 9/11 had just happened, and the emotional turmoil from it scarred me. I’d sold nine books to a publisher, but they decided to close down the line, and a new editor wasn’t receptive to a dark paranormal romantic suspense. The agent I had at the time didn’t believe in the book and didn’t do much to sell it. Back then, indie publishing wasn’t an option. But I believed in the book and wrote it, putting a lot of my angst into it. What came out changed my career. To my surprise, the publisher interested in it was Harlequin, and they bought it! They had nowhere to put a novel that was Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets The X-Files. But they found a spot, and three years later, the fourth book in the series launched the Nocturne line. There are at least a dozen books in the series, but the first book, DARKNESS CALLS, will always be special, and because of that, I decided to honor it with a brand new cover by a fabulous artist. Who’s Your Favorite Pupper?
