This or That: Cook or Clean?

When my husband and I were both working, we had one rule: Whoever cooked, the other person cleaned. Believe it or not, that sometimes resulted in a rush to cook since we both seemed to hate the clean-up so much (especially when hubby cooked!) What about you? Would you rather cook or clean? P.S. Happy Sunday and Joyful Flowers

Today I’m sharing some photos of the midsummer flowers gracing my garden. Others are still holding strong, like the regular hydrangeas and echinacea. But now it’s time for hollyhocks, butterfly bushes, Black-eyed Susan, phlox, Angelonia, Limelight hydrangeas, and so many more. There are also lots of tomatoes, eggplants, basil and thyme but the parsley has not done well at all. Maybe because the swallowtail butterfly caterpillars ate it? That has me hoping to see some of those butterflies soon! Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Sunday!

Shoutout to Debra Webb

This Saturday I want to give a shoutout to my friend and fellow author Debra Webb whose latest book just released this week! DEEPER THAN THE DEAD sounds like a fabulous book and I can’t wait to read it. If you love suspense, family drama, and dark secrets, grab your copy today at https://amzn.to/3LOVdyH. Here’s a teaser for DEEPER THAN DEAD.

Someone’s found the skeleton in the closet, and it’s not the only one. Wall Street Journal bestselling author Debra Webb presents an emotional new mystery.

Crime analyst and newly disgraced deputy police chief Vera Boyett doesn’t visit home often, and she certainly doesn’t venture back into the cave on her family land. But when the remains of her long-missing stepmother are discovered, Vera will have to face a past that threatens all she is.

She and her sister Eve had a fairy-tale childhood: good until it was tragic, with a stepmother they never found a bond with. At least they had each other, a baby half-sister, and a mutual devotion that would have them do the unthinkable.

It’s a summer in small-town Tennessee, so thick with humidity it could drown you and so rife with secrets it could smother you. And deep beneath the surface, there are more bodies than you’d think…

The Ax Man is two weeks old!

We’re so excited about our new little one and have been lucky to spend time with him and the new parents. As you can imagine, lots of sleepless nights, feedings, and diaper changes…for the parents that is. We have the best part of holding and just enjoying this cutie pie. He’s just over two weeks old now and growing nicely. He’s also becoming more alert. The other day when I was holding him he seemed to be laughing in his sleep. And how here’s this cute little sleep smile! So all is well and thanks to everyone who’s asked. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Where are the butterflies?

As you know from several posts, I’m big into gardening! It’s all organic gardening as well since I want to support all our pollinators and other animals. With my choice of pollinator-friendly flowers this year, I’ve had loads of bees and other small beneficial insects. But I haven’t had a lot of butterflies! I know the swallowtails have been around since I saw one of their caterpillars chomping on my parsley and it’s been eaten several times much like they do, but so far, only one lonely butterfly. The landscaper for our townhouses was by and he also asked me about it since he hasn’t seen all that many this year. What about you? How are the butterflies doing in your area? P.S. Honestly no book recommendation that features butterflies surprisingly! But if you get a chance, help a girl out by reading the first 10 chapters of EVERYDAY HAPPINESS for free at https://amzn.to/4csplf0.

Welcome Crooked Pass Security

I’m so excited that I now have the official title for the first book in the South Beach Security spinoff that finds Sophie and Robbie Whitaker in Colorado: Cliffside Kidnapping. In this story, Sophie and Robbie must help their cousin Jackson Whitaker, now the Regina Police Chief, rescue their parents who have been kidnapped by the criminals who have stolen evidence and hacked a police database to hide their crimes. The first book in the series features Sophie who will meet her match in Colorado Bureau of Investigation Agent Ryder Hunt and his sidekick Delilah, a Corgi whose failed K-9 training (thanks to everyone who asked for this!) I’m also excited about the new series title: Crooked Pass Security! I can’t wait for you to see what’s happening with Jackson and Rhea, the hero and heroine in COLD CASE REOPENED which is one of my fav books. If you haven’t read COLD CASE REOPENING, you can grab your copy https://amzn.to/4fqjRDp.
