It was so much fun to write SOUTH BEACH LOVE for Hallmark! First of all, I love stories with chefs, especially ones that get accidentally drawn into a contest to be featured in a magazine article that could make all the difference to their careers. Especially when those same chefs are going from old friends to more! This is how I pictured Chef Tony, the hero in SOUTH BEACH LOVE. The cutie is Michael Trevino who some of you might recognize from THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. I am addicted to shows like FORENSIC FILES and COLD CASE FILES which was made it so much fun to get to take part in the UNSOLVED MYSTERY collection for Harlequin Intrigue. My contribution to the collection is COLD CASE REOPENED, a story about a woman, Rhea Reilly, who is determined to find out what really happened to her missing twin sister. But to do so she has to convince Detective Jackson (Jax) Whitaker that he has to reopen the case that his department closed. I loved the tension between them that arises both due to the investigation and attraction. I also enjoyed using everything I’ve learned from my show addiction to create a story that will have fans of cold case filed trying to figure out what really happened to Rhea’s sister. As for Jax, if I had to pick someone to play Jax in a movie, there’s no doubt it would be sexy Josh Holloway!

I know fans of the Outlander series will recognize this hottie right away! Sam Heughan has captured hearts in his role as Jamie Fraser. But you can see him in a different, almost comedic light, in THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME which turned out to be a funny take on spy novels. Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon also star in that movie.

I’ve been chatting with buddies about what else to watch and the Virgin River series came up. I checked it out and am enjoying it, mostly because of hottie Martin Henderson. His character is intriguing and totally Man Candy on multiple levels. You have to check out the series and Martin of course! Virgin River is available on Netflix and is based on books by Robyn Carr.

I fell in love with Carlo from the At the Shore Series from the first moment that he appeared in ONE SUMMER NIGHT. I’m just finishing up my new book for Sourcebooks and I am loving it, even though it’s really different from what I normally do. There is a strong romance element, but there is also the story of three women separated by past hurts. Exiled from each other hence the tentative title, Exiled Hearts. I’ve also mentioned that I’ve worked a lot of my family’s history in escaping Cuba into this story. It’s been quite fascinating to do that since I’d tried many times in the past to write about that, but couldn’t because it was too emotional. Somehow weaving it into a fictional story has released the chains that kept that story locked in me. Anyway, the romantic interest in the story is Luis Torres, the CEO of the heroine’s family business. He’s almost like a member of the family and although their relationship starts off rockily, it quickly develops into much more. I picture Luis as very handsome and very stylish, much like the young man in this photo.
