Happy National Book Lovers Day!

Happy National Book Lovers Day! Today is a day on which we can all unite to celebrate our favorite thing: BOOKS! They make us laugh, cry, or grit our teeth in frustration. They’re the thing we have stacked up everywhere and can never get enough of. BOOKS! Take a moment to share what you love the most about books. Happy National Sisters Day!

Happy National Sisters Day! Here’s wishing my sister Carmen a very happy National Sisters Day! I’m lucky to have her in my life, and we do many things together, especially gardening things. It’s fun to spend time with her, and I’m proud of what an accomplished gardener and cook she is. For those wondering, she finished 5th in the quarterfinals of that Favorite Chef competition. Quite an accomplishment. P.S. I have two books that feature a pair of sisters as the heroes. The first book, MORE THAN A MISSION, is part of the Capturing the Crown collection and is about a chef, Elizabeth Moore, who may be a professional assassin. Happy National New Jersey Day!

Happy National New Jersey Day! I was raised on Long Island and loved it, but when it came time for hubby and me to buy a house, Long Island was unaffordable for various reasons. When a friend invited us for dinner at their New Jersey condo, we realized that New Jersey could provide the kind of life we wanted. We weren’t wrong. From our first small house to a bigger one when we had our daughter to our lovely condo on the Jersey Shore, we have loved New Jersey. There is so much to see and do here, and so many beautiful places. Today I’m sharing a little video showing you some of my lovely places down the shore! Enjoy! P.S. Happy National Wine and Cheese Day! When my husband and I were dating, we often went to a local wine and cheese place. It was the thing to do back then. It was very romantic to sip wine and snack on cheese and crackers while getting to know each other. I often wish that wine and cheese places would make a comeback. We used to sometimes sit and have wine and cheese when we got back from the beach, but we haven’t done that in years. Maybe we’ll start that up again! What about you? Happy National Mango Day!

Happy National Mango Day! Mango is one of my favorite fruits, and I’m so happy that you can find them in most stores now. I love eating a sweet, ripe mango or making a mango smoothie. I even have mango ice cream in the fridge right now! With so many books set in South Beach, you can bet you’ll see an appearance of a mango in one of them. Ingredients

1 cup chopped mango (fresh or frozen)
1 cup yogurt (unsweetened)
1/2 cup milk
4 tbsp honey or sugar (more or less depending on the sweetness of the mango)
1 cup ice

Directions

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Don’t like mangos? Substitute peaches or any other fruit of your choice!
