Happy Father’s Day to my husband and my wonderful son-in-law. They both epitomize what it is to be good fathers with their dedication, love, humor, and hard work. These photos were both taken on the baby’s first day of life. Such an amazing and inspiring circle of life from my daughter in her father’s arms to her baby in his father’s arms. I’m so lucky that she’s not only my baby, but that she’s also my best friend. My sister is also my best friend, and I have several others, both in my regular life and in my writing world. We have a few Memorial Day traditions. First, we always try to get to one of the parades and/or memorial events honoring those who gave all on our behalf. Please honor and respect that sacrifice. Next, we try to get to the beach since it’s the unofficial start of summer. Finally, we get together with friends and family for a BBQ. OMG, we had a lovely Friday and Saturday at A Day of Wine, Romance, and More! Friday started with readings from several authors, and as dusk descended, a fog rolled in over the vineyard. It was atmospheric! On Saturday, many nice visitors came by to chat and buy books, and it was a lovely, sunny day. We hung out with friends when the event was over and enjoyed the sun and lovely scenery. Today is the event’s last day, and we look forward to seeing you there if you’re in the area! April is coming to a close which begs the question: What has been the best thing about April so far? For me, it was a combination of things, namely the Liberty States Fiction Writers Conference at the start of the month and our amazing Italian vacation. I loved the conference, spending time with other writers, and learning new things. I loved the vacation because it let me relax and see new things. “New things” are something I love since they inspire me! I know many of you had April birthdays which would be a great April thing, but what else was good about April for you?
