#ThrowbackThursday – A Trip to Turks & Caicos
My husband was recently honored by his company for his outstanding work last year. Congrats, hubby! As part of his award, we got to visit the Turks & Caicos Islands along with several other honorees. It was nice to go there and even if hubby had meetings, I got to enjoy the spa and some needed down time. I’ve had a lot going on lately which is why I’ve been relatively silent the last few weeks. Hopefully things will settle down soon. For now, some photos from a gorgeous place – the Amanyara Resort in Turks & Caicos!
#FlowerFriday – My Fav Hydrangeas
One of my fav garden plants is the hydrangea aka the snowball bush! They come in so many different styles and shapes that you are bound to find one that will work in your garden. Just check out the variety in this link: https://yhoo.it/2vw5iJx
Not to mention that hydrangeas will grow will in even poor soils and in either full sun or partial shade. Did you know that you can change their color (as long as they are one of the standard bushes). Make your soil acidic by using aluminum sulfate (or plant food for acid loving plants) to get blue flowers. Add lime to make your soil more basic and get pink flowers.
Hydrangeas also have many different leaf types. There are oak leaf hydrangea and also plants with variegated leaves. So much variety for a plant that’s easy to grow and care for!
Here’s a photo of one type of hydrangea that’s growing in Bryant Park.

#ThrowbackThursday – First Day of New Business OG Surf & Skate
Running a small business is a tough thing today. That’s why I’m so proud that my daughter managed to stick it out for six long years! So today is a throwback to her first day as the new owner of OG Surf & Skate. Proud of you!

#WisdomWednesday The Most Important Things Are Not Things!
Lately I’ve been a lot more cautious about what I buy. I ask myself, “Will I use this or will it become a dust collector?” I guess it’s because my brain is in downsize mode and I’ve been busy getting rid of so many things. If it isn’t something a friend or family member can use, I decide if it can be donated to help someone else and if not, I toss it.
After all, it’s not those material things that are important. It’s friends, family and helping others regardless of who they are because if “love is love is love” that applies to everyone, even people you don’t agree with. Nothing was ever accomplished by getting in people’s faces or angrily pointing and shouting about how horrible they are when you don’t even know them.
But I digress. Back to things and not collecting them. Since I’ve been more mindful about buying, I’ve saved some money. Even before that I was a “shopper” as my daughter would say. Coupons? Heck yes! Take care of the pennies and the dollars take care of themselves.
And now, a little plug about saving pennies! LOL! ONE SUMMER NIGHT is a Kindle Daily Deal today and is specially priced across all the other retailers as well! You can get it here:
