Unboxing Never Gets Old

It’s always exciting when hubby says, “You just got a box from Harlequin!” Yeah! That means I have my author’s copies of an upcoming release, and this time it was COLD CASE K-9. I am so excited for you to read this book when it releases at the end of December. It’s action-packed, but also very emotional as a Colorado Bureau of Investigation agent tries to stop a serial killer who she suspects took her younger sister a decade earlier. Plus, COLD CASE K-9 was the inspiration for the new spinoff series where Crooked Pass Security solves cold cases for people still awaiting justice. You can grab your copies of the books in the Crooked Pass Security series, including COLD CASE K-9, at https://amzn.to/3KHADmE.

Behind the Scenes Cold Case K-9

A woman can work from sun to sun, but a writer’s work is never done! LOL! While I’m busy sharing my latest release, DEFENDED BY THE BODYGUARD, I’m also working on setting up events for 2026 and writing the first book in the COLD CASE K-9 series. The book is as yet untitled, but it’s about a woman who wants Crooked Pass Security’s new cold case division to investigate the disappearance of her father twenty years earlier. Although Crooked Pass Security is in Colorado, this case takes them to New Jersey and the various military installations in Sandy Hook and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. I can’t wait for you to read this book. Tentative release in 2027! OMG, that seems so far away, but I know it will be here before we all know it. In the meantime, grab a copy of the Crooked Pass Security books at https://amzn.to/47cmo2o.

Happy Daughter’s Day

OMG, it’s National Daughter’s Day and I want to wish my daughter a very happy daughter’s day! I am so proud to be the mom of this amazing woman. She’s a dedicated mom, a wonderful writer, and so helpful to other writers, sharing her knowledge of social media and volunteering in two different groups for the benefit of others. Plus, she’s funny and helps me avoid horrible fashion choices. LOL! Samantha, you are the best daughter anyone could ask for! P.S. If you want to help celebrate Samantha today, check out her latest release. It’s about the banished prince of an underwater kingdom whose secret is discovered by a surf photographer. As you can imagine, romance ensues! Grab your copy today at https://amzn.to/4mUTmcF.

Behind the Scenes

Whenever I do an event, people ask questions about what it’s like to write a book. How did I get started? How long does it take to write a book? Where do I get the ideas? It’s always fun to share that process. One thing people don’t ask: What does your desk look like? I actually don’t write at a desk. After years of working at a desk at my full-time job, I hated coming home to sit at another desk to write. Plus, I got used to writing on the train, where I didn’t have a desk, just my knapsack to lean on. So now, at home, I sit on my couch and use a lap desk while I’m writing. I also watch TV. I need the background noise (that train thing again!) If you notice some colorful things in this photo, it’s my collection of Mets memorabilia and my grandbaby’s rugs and toys. When he’s here, I turn my office into his play area! P.S. Someone who understands the sitting at the desk part is Connie from the At the Shore series. As a NYC attorney, she spends long hours at work, much like I did. But she also loves spending time with her friends on the Jersey Shore and, of course, with bad boy surfer Jonathan, who has returned to Sea Kiss like the prodigal son. Happy Fall, I think?

Happy Fall, I think? It’s a nice season, but not my favorite because it means winter is approaching. Luckily, being near the ocean helps moderate temperatures, so we’re never as hot or cold as inland. But now a learning moment. It’s the equinox today, and that word comes from the Latin. Equi means equal, and nox means night. The equinox is when the sun is directly above the equator, and the length of day and night is equal. Cool, right? So is the weather, LOL! Have a great first day of fall! P.S. If you’re like me and want to hold onto summer a little longer, grab your copies of the At the Shore contemporary romance series. Set on the Jersey Shore, these stories highlight friendships, family, romance, and more! You can pick up the first two books in the series for 99 cents at https://amzn.to/3VYRmEh!
