Happy World Dolphin Day!

It’s World Dolphin Day! I am always so happy when I am able to see dolphins in the ocean. Last year we had a lot of them as well as a lot of whales. Sadly, in recent months there have been a number of whale and dolphin deaths along the Jersey Shore. Although the authorities are denying the connection, the deaths coincide with recent sonar use to map out locations for offshore wind turbines. It makes me question why no one is bothering to have a moratorium on this while investigations are conducted, especially since both dolphins and whales are affected by undersea noise pollution. On top of that, wind turbines leak oil and coolants. Where will these leaks go? Into the ocean? On top of that, wind turbines change the environment around them by bringing warm air down to the ocean’s surface, heating it. That changes the kinds of fish in the area. Let’s not even talk about the damage to existing fish and shellfish areas when they pile drive the columns necessary to support the turbines. Do environmentalists not really care about this? As someone who cares deeply about the ocean and all the things that live in it, I’m worried about the silence on what’s happening now with the whale and dolphin deaths and what will happen to the environment from leaks, water warming, etc.

Happy Throwback to Baby Years

My daughter and I are best buds. I love spending time with her. Like any mom, I sometimes love teasing her so here goes… This is a picture of my daughter when she was a baby. I believe we had been playing peek-a-boo and she had the toy bucket over her head and when she took it off… SURPRISE! What a cutie, right?

Happy but exhausted Monday

What a wonderful weekend! I spent the last few days at the Liberty States Fiction Writers Conference. I think it was a wonderful event but I may be a little biased since I was the Conference Chair. I had a great time learning new things at the workshops and meeting new people. A lovely time. Now I’m back at my desk, pounding away the keys to finish up #3 in the South Beach Security K-9 series spinoff, tentatively titled Killer in the Kennels. It’s a twisty, mind-bender about the discovery about a serial killer at the site of SBS’s new K-9 Division training center. I’m almost done and can’t wait to see what you’ll think about the four new books in the series which will be out in Summer 2024. In the meantime, you can read the first three which are now out and available in print, e-book, and audio! You can find them at https://amzn.to/42SXHDw.

Happy Friday! Freedom and a Margarita are almost here!

Happy Friday! I always used to wait for Friday afternoon because I knew by the time 3:OO pm rolled around I was only a couple of hours from freedom and maybe a margarita. Possibly pizza since that was always our welcome-to-the-weekend dinner. Today will be a little different since I’ll be with my writing conference buddies preparing for tomorrow’s conference and book fair. We’re expecting an excellent turnout and I hope you can make it if you’re in the area! Remember: 4:30 to 6:30 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hamilton, NJ. I’ll have my latest releases available including the three books in the South Beach Security series. I’ll also have some earlier releases and goodies for anyone who buys one of the books! I hope you can come by.

5 Things to Remember for a Conference

I’m getting ready for our Liberty States Fiction Writers Conference this weekend and it’s crazy time as I round up everything I need, especially since I’m the Conference Chair this year. I’m so excited about the conference, but also making lists and checking them twice so everything goes off without a hitch. Actually, I do that for most conferences and decided I’d share with you my list of 5 things to remember if you’re going to a conference! First, take your business cards and if you’re a reader, no reason not to have them either so that you can share them when you meet someone new. That’s number two on my list: meet new people. Third, learn something new. The fourth item is very important, namely, Have Fun! Last but not least, take something I’ve learned and use it to improve my career. It could be a writing tip or something about marketing, but I always learn something that can help! By the way, if you’re in the Hamilton, NJ area, I’ll be at the Book Fair on Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30. The book fair is open to the general public and I’d love to see you. The Book fair is at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hamilton, NJ.

Hello Friday!

I’m still busy working on #3 in the South Beach Security K-9 Division series from Harlequin Intrigue. It may seem like a long time to you, but I’ve only been working on it since February 10 after I finished #2. I’m furiously typing away since I have an April 10 deadline to deliver the complete book. Not much time from one book to the other and once I’m done with this story involving the discovery of a serial killer at an abandoned greyhound kennel, I’m off to start the last one in the series. #4 is a second chance at love story (I SO LOVE THOSE) about a K-9 agent who has to protect a former lover who is being terrorized by someone who is trying to keep her from testifying. I also love seeing what’s happening with characters from earlier books and you’ll definitely get to see what’s happening with the Gonzalez family and their loved ones in this spinoff. If you haven’t read the first three, they are all available in print, as e-books, and also as audio books. You find out more at https://amzn.to/3Td7kIF.

Happy First Day of Spring!

Spring is here! Yeah! That means summer can’t be far behind. I love Spring. For me it’s a time of rebirth and getting ready for the lazy days of summer. I’ve already put out some spring bulbs and pansies, and I’ve started cleaning up pots and things to get them ready for planting summer flowers and vegetables. Speaking of vegetables, I’ve sowed seeds for about six different tomatoes, eggplant, and two different peppers. Also have seeds for cucumbers and zucchini to play outdoors when the time is right. Can’t wait. How about you? Are you gardners or do you have other hobbies that are fun for you?
