Fun Nails for Fall in Love with New England Conference

Today is a short post since I’ll be running around getting ready for our first workshop at the Fall in Love with New England conference. To celebrate the Halloween theme for Friday Night’s costume party, I went with a pumpkin color complete with cobwebs and a spider! If you’re in the Marlborough area on Saturday, please drop by the book signing which is open to the general public starting at 4:45. The book signing will be at the Best Western on Boston Post Road in Marlborough.

The Queen of Latina Romance

Since I’m celebrating my 25th anniversary of being published, I’ve been sharing photos and stories with some of the highlights from my career. One of the most interesting and demanding but exciting ones was getting to ghostwrite the novel tie-in for the Jane the Virgin television show. How did that happen? Well, my agent and I got a call one day saying I was on a short list of authors to write the book. They asked if we were interested (who wouldn’t be) and if I could send them a sample of my writing. They also said, by the way, it will be a historical romance. I’ve never written a historical romance although my vampire romances sometimes had flashbacks to the vampire’s earlier lives. I had one particular scene that was still quite vivid in my memory from THE VAMPIRE’S CONSORT and we sent them that scene. The next day we got word: I was chosen to write the book. Just one problem: It had to be done in a month. WOW! I also couldn’t tell anyone about it, not even my family. WOW! So we said “yes” and I started writing. I had to take time off from work to be able to finish it but it was a blast and the showrunners were fabulous. They hinted at me being able to come to Los Angeles for a cameo but that didn’t work out. I was disappointed but they did something even better to make up for it: They had Jane say my name on the air and call me “The Queen of Latina Romance.” HOW EXCITING! So today, I’m showing a very short clip from that scene. You can grab SNOW FALLING, the book from the television show, at https://amzn.to/3N4t2MZ.

Happily Addicted to Bacon

It’s Fun Friday and I’m hard at work on #2 in the Crooked Pass Security series which will be available in July 2025. This is a story about a woman who has survived domestic abuse and a kidnapping and is trying to rebuild her life and reach for her dreams of being a professional singer. The hero is a tech guru from South Beach Security who will help protect her from a stalker who is growing increasingly violent. I’m almost done with the first draft and pushing to finish so I’m leaving you with a short post and joke today! I can’t take credit for it. This dad joke comes from a chef who appeared on Guy Fieri’s Grocery Games. Here goes: I’m addicted to bacon, but don’t worry there’s a cure. LOL! Have a great Friday. P.S. If you haven’t read any of the 7 standalone books in the South Beach Security series, you can grab your copies at https://amzn.to/4eO5xDR.

Happy National Tell a Joke Day

Question: What’s the difference between in-laws and outlaws?
Answer: Outlaws are wanted.

That’s the joke the cashier at the local beverage store told my husband when he went to pick up some things for a quick dinner with the kids and the Ax Man. Kind of funny and what’s more appropriate than a joke on National Tell a Joke Day! Do you have any funny jokes to share? What about the age old favorite Knock Knock jokes? P.S. – I absolutely don’t write humor although there are some funny parts in my books, like SOUTH BEACH LOVE. I loved the quips between the two nieces in that book and also their growth as they join together to give their aunt and uncle a happily ever after. SOUTH BEACH LOVE is specially priced at 99 cents at https://amzn.to/3YI9bKw or download it for free by signing up for my newsletter at https://bit.ly/CaridadsNewsletter.

National Tell a Joke Day

The Ax Man is two weeks old!

We’re so excited about our new little one and have been lucky to spend time with him and the new parents. As you can imagine, lots of sleepless nights, feedings, and diaper changes…for the parents that is. We have the best part of holding and just enjoying this cutie pie. He’s just over two weeks old now and growing nicely. He’s also becoming more alert. The other day when I was holding him he seemed to be laughing in his sleep. And how here’s this cute little sleep smile! So all is well and thanks to everyone who’s asked. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
