Happy National Ice Cream Day!

Happy National Ice Cream Day! I’m heading home today and probably won’t get to celebrate by having a scoop of ice cream. I hope you’ll have a scoop on my behalf. My fav ice cream flavor lately is chocolate peanut butter from Callie’s Creamery. Callie’s is a local, family-owned shop. Unfortunately, they just suffered devastating damage thanks to some flooding. Happy National Mac and Cheese Day

Sweet dreams are made of cheese, who am I to dis-a-brie, I’ve traveled the world, looking for cheddar… LOL! I am a cheese lover, and what could be better than adding it to macaroni to make an ooey-gooey pan of cheese goodness? Happy National Mac and Cheese Day. I’m spoiled because my son-in-law makes the best mac and cheese! I love it whenever he makes it for us. I make mac and cheese for the grandbaby all the time, the easy way. Just add a little milk or half-and-half to cream cheese, melt, add a ton of cheddar to make the cheese sauce, and then add the pasta! He loves it! What about you? Do you love mac and cheese? P.S. Happy National Sugar Cookie Day!

Happy National Sugar Cookie Day! I think I love sugar cookies better than chocolate chip. I especially love snickerdoodles, which I think are a variation on a plain sugar cookie. Happy National Fried Chicken Day

Happy National Fried Chicken Day! I love fried chicken, but I confess we don’t eat it very often because we don’t do fried foods at home anymore. The most I muster is breaded chicken cutlets in our toaster oven, which has an air fry function. They come out pretty well, but they’re just not the same as fried. Occasionally, especially if we’re down South, we’ll get fried chicken at a restaurant, and nom nom. So tasty. What about you? Do you love fried chicken? P.S. Looking for a beach read? Happy National Ice Cream Cake Day

I grew up hearing Tom Carvel’s raspy voice in those almost campy television ads touting Fudgie the Whale. Tom was so down-to-earth and so committed to his whale-shaped ice cream cake! Apparently, the executives were not so sure a fish-shaped cake and mascot would sell ice cream cakes, but boy, were they wrong. Fudgie the Whale is the stuff of legends and still highly popular. I totally get it. Who wouldn’t love layers of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with that delicious chocolate crunch, all of it covered in what else? FUDGE. Say it again. FUDGE! Nom nom. I was always excited when we got Fudgie the Whale to celebrate a birthday! What about you? Are you an ice cream cake devotee? P.S. I have no books remotely connected to ice cream cake. I can’t even imagine writing one into one of my romantic suspense books! Who has time for ice cream cake when bullets are flying? But in a contemporary romance, definitely. I’m going to have to set aside another series like the At the Shore series. I miss my contemporary romance! LOL! Happy National Chocolate Pudding Day

Happy National Chocolate Pudding Day! Some of my fondest memories are of my grandmother making chocolate pudding and letting me clean out what was left in the pot. She made the best puddings. Actually, she was a fabulous cook. She could make anything taste great, even a mishmash of leftovers. I loved watching her and my mother cook. I think it’s why my sister and I love to cook and are relatively good cooks. My sister is still in the running in her group, and you can vote for her at https://favchef.com/2026/carmen-morfe.
