When my daughter was little, our favorite ritual was getting pizza on Friday night, whipping out the TV tray tables, and watching animated cartoons together. Half of our pizza was always pepperoni since that’s my daughter’s favorite. The other half varied but my favorite combo was onions and mushrooms. Some people like to go sweet on their pizzas and do ham and pineapple. I have to confess, I’ve never tried that although I have had dessert pizzas with Nutella and fruit. What about you? Many of the heroes in the South Beach Security series and its K-9 Division spinoff have been military heroes, although I have had a psychologist, real estate agent, and tech geniuses as well. In the upcoming Crooked Pass Security series I also have several military heroes. That made me wonder whether I should change it up in a new series and one kind of hero immediately came to mind in light of current events: a firefighter. I’ll just have to figure out how being a firefighter works into a romantic suspense novel. What do you think? Would you like to see more military heroes or a change of pace like a firefighter? P.S. Whenever I want to reach out to my daughter, I find that it’s far easier to text her than to call her. This younger generation seems to respond to texts better than calls. Personally, I prefer to reach out to someone with a call rather than a text. Despite that, I’ve resolved myself to text more with my daughter and some others since they’re more responsive that way. I am not a fan of winter at all. I live for spring and summer and being able to be on the beach or take long strolls along the boardwalk. That’s why I’m counting the days until I can head to the fabulous Coastal Magic Convention in Daytona Beach in February. It’s a fun reader conference and there’s some warmer weather as well! We have a running tradition of spending New Year’s Eve with some good friends. Sometimes we go out for a nice meal but we also will sometimes work together to make a special dinner.
