Is a Hamburger a Sandwich?

It’s an age-old question. Is a hamburger a sandwich? Same goes for a hot dog? If we say that a sandwich is meat, cheese, or some other filling between two pieces of bread, I think a hamburger is a sandwich. What about you? P.S. Nothing to do with hamburgers or sandwiches, except that Robbie in DEFENDED BY THE BODYGUARD is a bottomless pit when it comes to food. LOL! Dog-Ear or Bookmark?

Hubby and I are completely different when it comes to reading, and it’s not just about what we read. When hubby finishes reading a book, it is pristine. The spine is intact, and there are no dog-eared pages. He always uses a bookmark. I am the complete opposite. I love cracking the spine on a paperback, and I totally dog-ear the pages. If there’s a good quote or phrase, I may even fold that page in half so I can go back to it later. What about you? Dog-ear or bookmark? P.S. Robbie Whitaker, the computer genius in DEFENDED BY THE BODYGUARD, is definitely like me when it comes to books. As for Selene, the musician heroine, I picture her as the kind to use a bookmark and make sure the book looks new when she’s finished. Book First or Movie First?

I’ve had a few times that I watched a movie and realized it was based on a book. I have gone and read the book afterward, and it was interesting to see how the book was adapted for the movie. But if I know beforehand that a movie is based on a book, and it’s really intriguing, I usually try to read the book first. What about you? If you had a choice, would you see the movie first or read the book first? P.S. I could totally picture CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING as a movie. All those chase scenes and hikes through the forest would be really cinematic! CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING is the first book in the Crooked Pass Security series. The second book, DEFENDED BY THE BODYGUARD, will be available on July 30. Grab your copies today at https://amzn.to/3HoZB8G.

Morning Person or Night Owl?

As a kid, I used to sleep in late, but once I had a baby, I became a morning person. I had to so I could get to the office early and come home at a reasonable hour. That meant going to bed no later than about ten. But on weekends, I’d stay up later, and now that I’m retired, I stay up past midnight sometimes. The problem is that I’m still up around 6:30 so I can write for several hours. Sigh. I guess I’m both a morning person and a night owl! What about you? Morning person or night owl? P.S. The Crooked Pass Security series premiered with CLIFFSIDE KIDNAPPING on July 1. DEFENDED BY THE BODYGUARD will be out on July 30! What’s Your Fav Side Dish?

I’m getting ready to celebrate this fabulous nation’s 249th birthday on July 4th! I’m going to head to the beach with some friends and then have a barbecue. Burgers and hot dogs are on the menu for sure, but I’m trying to decide on the sides, namely corn on the cob or baked beans (or both!) If you had to choose only one of the two, which would it be? Corn on the cob or baked beans? P.S. On the 4th of July weekend, the women of At the Shore series would also spend time with friends, barbecuing and watching fireworks. If you’d like to spend some time with them, check out ONE SUMMER NIGHT, which is specially priced at 99 cents. Download your e-book today at https://amzn.to/3HN1rjV.

Are you a faithful reader?

Are you a faithful reader? And by that I mean, do you read one book at a time or are you a social book butterfly, reading multiple books at a time? I’m very linear and can only read one book at a time. I’d get too distracted by reading more than one. P.S. My newsletter is going out on July 26, and I’ll be choosing 5 lucky readers to win an autographed copy of DANGER IN DADE and some swag from those who enter my VIP Newsletter Giveaway. Sign up for my newsletter at https://bit.ly/CaridadsNewsletter to find out how to enter. As my way of saying thanks for signing up, you’ll also be able to download a free e-book!

Do You Love Regular or Herbal Tea?

I need my coffee first thing in the morning when I am writing. It’s comforting and helps wake me up. But when I sit down to write for an afternoon session, it’s a cup of tea for me. Normally, it’s English Breakfast, but occasionally I treat myself to Harney’s Wedding Tea, which is a white tea with rose petals. It’s delicious. I have some friends who primarily do herbal teas, like chamomile and rooibos. I sometimes make hibiscus tea with lemonade for a cold summer drink. What about you? Regular or herbal tea? P.S. Today is the last day to get 25% off your purchase with the code BOOKLOVERS at Harlequin.com. Don’t miss out on this great offer!
