It’s National Egg Day! Nom nom! Eggs are one of my favorite foods which I guess is why I love breakfast so much. My fav way to eat eggs is fried because I just love the yolk part. I know a lot of people don’t like that and prefer scrambled eggs. What about you? Do you love scrambled, fried, or some other way? Of course, the only wrong way to eat an egg is without bacon! LOL. As part of my daughter’s baby shower, we asked people to bring a book that she could read to the baby. We had a number of wonderful contributions to the baby’s library. One of my favorite stories as a child was Richard Scarry’s The Country Mouse and the City Mouse. Being a suburban child, visits to the city were such an exciting idea, just like the country mouse. Having worked in the city for far too long, I now love living in a small town which is very much more country than city. How about you? Would you love a country cottage somewhere or a city home? P.S. It’s been a long time since we had a little Man Candy for our This or That, so today’s choice will hopefully be interesting. It’s one of life’s most difficult decisions to make: coffee or tea? I’m an equal opportunity girl although I normally must have coffee in the morning but prefer tea in the afternoon or evening. I’ve started seeing the buzz about the upcoming summer Olympics in Paris. As a kid, I pictured myself taking part in them. I was a pretty good field hockey and tennis player but nothing that would ever qualify me for such an event. It got me thinking about all the everyday things I do and whether any of them would be medal-worthy. Things like writing books, cooking, or gardening might be something that could earn me a spot on the podium. What about you? What kinds of everyday things do you think you shine in? Happy Earth Day! As you may know from following me, I am an avid gardener but I’m also a ruthless one. If my plants don’t give me either flowers, interesting leaves, or vegetables, they are gone from my garden. The main reason for that is that in my new forever home I only have a small space to grow things and so I really have to get a big bang for my buck. What about you? Do you like to garden and if so, do you prefer to plant flowers, veggies, or both? I do a lot of both and some of my favorite things to plant are pansies which remind me of my mom and tomatoes. Nothing tastes better than a sun-ripened tomato straight off the plant! These are photos of some of the things I’ve grown in my little garden! P.S.
